In the name of God Amen the xijth daye of July in the yeres of the raigne of or sovregn Lord James by the grace of god Kinge of Englande Scotlande France & Irelande defender of the faith &c that is to saye of England France and Irelande the xjth yere and of Scotlande the xlvjth &c I Johane Cooke of Corse in the Countie of Gloust widowe beinge sicke in body but in good and prfecte remembrance thanks be to Allmightie god therefore doe make and ordeyne this my prsente Testamente Concerninge herein my laste will in manr and forme followinge Firste and above all things I give and bequeath my sowle to Allmightie god my maker and redeemer by whose death and bloud sheedinge I hope to be saved and my bodye to be buried in the prishe Church yarde of Corse aforsaid And as Touchinge and Concerninge the worldly goods the lorde god hath Indued me wth all I doe give bequeath and assigne them as followeth I doe give and bequeath twowards the repacons of the Churche of Corse aforsaid xxs I give and bequeath twowards the relief of the pore people of Corse aforsaid fower bushels of wheate or xxs in mony of the wch two I remitte to the discrecon of myne Executor hereafter named I doe give & bequeath to James Cooke my nevie my two beeds wth the boulsters and all my cloothes belonginge to the same beds in my lower seller and his mother Elizabeth Cooke widowe to have the use of the same bede & cloothes so longe as shee the said Elizabeth dooth keepe her selfe sole chaste and unmarried soe that shee the Elizabeth dooth keepe the saide beeds and cloothes in as good repacons as nowe they bee I doe give more to the same James my nevie one bullocke of the age of a yere oulde I give more to James Cooke my nevie me beste fether beed now in my parlor and the beste boulster to the same and the beedsteed in the chamber my little brasse pane and my prese in my Chanber one Bason of Brase mettell nowe in the kepinge of Margery Perks I give more to the same James Cooke my nevie one payer of Flaxen sheets I doe give & bequeathe to my daughter Margery Perkes Children xli in manr and forme Followinge that is to saye to Johan Haywarde vli to John Haywarde xls and xxs apiece to evry of the other children shee hade by John Haywarde I doe give unto me daughter Margery Perks my seconde beste Gowne & two payer of hempen sheets I give unto the same Margery Perkes one Cowe and my seconde beste brasse pane wth one duble canvas the heallinge boulster and pillow nowe used to the same beed I give more to Johane Hayward my beste Gowne beste petticoote one heifer & one payer of Flaxen sheets I give to my sonne Thomas Cooks daughter Three pounds I give to John Barnesteyes daughter my goddaughter xxs I doe give & bequeathe to Guye Hill my daughters sonne vli And I doe appoynte Thomas Cooke my sonne to ymploye the said vli for the said Guyes moste advantage until the tyme of his apprentishippe be exspresed I give more to Guy Hill aforsaid two shepe I give and Bequeath to Thomas Cooke my nevie one wether lambe I give more to Johan Haywarde aforsaid one coffer of two Bushells made of Elme bords wth lock & key to the same and one Coffer made of Prucetree bords and all my wearringe Lynen that is therein wth locke & key to the same I give to Johan Perkes my daughters daughter xls I doe give and bequeath to Suzane Perks my daughters daughter xxsth Itm my will is that all my before geven goods and legacies not appointed when to be payed to be payed by my Executor w in one yere next after my decease I give and bequeath more to James Cooke my nevie my greate poote of Brasse one greate Broche one little broche one payer of Cobbirons all her prte of Irone doges all my prte of tacke all my prte of the seston muste myll & Treen ware to be used between his mother & him in manr as aforsaid And further my will is that whereas James Cooke my sonne at the tyme of his death did stande indetted & did owe to me the forsaid Johan the some of xxxvli lawfull mony of Englande confessed to be dett by the Administratrixe of the said James Cooke deceased I doe give and bequeath xxiijli tthereof to Thomazin Cooke my nice and William Cooke my nevie equally to be devided betwene them when they shall accomplish theire sevrall ages of xxjon yeres apiece And the other xijli Residue of the forsaid somme of xxxvli I give to the reste of the said James Cooks Children nowe livinge equally to be devided betweene them that is to say to eche of them xlsli appece And further my will that the foresaid xxxv to the prtes before geven to be payed by Elizabeth Cooke the late wife & administratrixe of the forsaid James Cooke my sonne deceased or his heires or of one of them wch of righte oughte to paye the same My will intente true meaninge is that myne Executor hereafter to be named shall not by any means capable or Charged to paye any prte or prcell of the foresaid xxxvli before geven I give to Easter Cooke my sonne Thomas Cooks daughter Three pounds Item all the residue of my goods Chattells and Cattells movable and unmoveable together wth all bills bonds detts and duties to me due and apprteyninge of all maner of prsons wch in this realme of Englande not before geven and bequeathed I foe give bequeathe and assigne them to Thomas Cooke my naturall sonne whom I doe make and appoynte to be my full and Executor of this my prsente Testamente and laste will to Receive my detts paye my detts & legacies & to see my funerals and Expences truly discharged And of the executor of the same I make & ordeyne my lovinge good neighboures John Baldwyn and Richard Favell thelder of Corse overseers And I doe utterly revoke & adnull all and evry other former Testaments wills legacies bequests executors & overseers by me in any wiese before this made named willed and bequeathed 1613
