Anne Etheridge of Apperly, Deerehurst

 

In the Name of God Amen I Anne Etheridge wife of John Etheridge weaver of Apperly in the parish of Deerehurst being Somewhat weake in Body but of Sound & perfect memory praised by God for it do make this my last will & Testament in manner & form following being lawfully impowerd thereunto by a contract made with my husband John Etheridge before Marriage by a Bond given to Edmund Pearce it may appeare Imprimis I bequeath my Soule into the hands of the Lord & my Body to the Earth to be decently buried hoping & stedfastly believing that I shall have a joyfull resurrecon of my Body and a reunion of Soule & Body to eternall life through the all sufficient merits of my only Savior Jesus Christ & as for that Estate that it hath pleased God to give me in this world I give & bequeath as followeth I give to my Deare Husband John Etheridge tenn pounds of lawfull money to be paid within six weeks after my decease Item I give to my Daughter Anne Pearce the wife of John Pearce all my houshold goods I am now possesst of as Brass Pewter Bedds & Bed Cloaths Chattles within and without all my wearing apparel all my Linnen as Sheets Napkins Table Cloaths & all other my houshold goods & tacke within & without whatsoever Item I give to my Daughter Anne Pearce all my Cattle & all my Cowes & Calves All my Sheep & Lambe all my horses mares & Colts Item I give to my said Daughter Anne Pearce all my Cattle & all my Cowes & Calves moneys that I have now in my possession & all my moneys due to me by bills bonds & all other Debts with all Interest thereunto due with this provisoe & my Will is that my Grandaughter Anne Pearce shall have fifteen pounds and I do by this my will give her fifteen pounds & my best Feather Bed & best Blankett & Feather Pillow the money to be improved for her use & I do give to my Grandaughter Mary Pearce Five pounds to be improved for her use and if my granddaughter Anne Pearce dye before she come to the age of nineteen yeares of age then my will is that the abovenamed Fifteen pounds & Bed with the appurtenances be given to my Grandaughter Mary Pearce and if both Ann Pearce & Mary Pearce dye before they come to the age of nineteen yeares then my will is that the abovenamed twenty pounds be equally divided amongst the Children that shall be begotten by my son in law John Pearce upon the Body of my daughter Ann Pearce I do hereby constitute make and appoint my Daughter Ann Pearce to be my full and whole Executrix of this my last will & Testament my body to bury my Debts & Legacyes to pay I do revoke all former wills by me made or intended to be made and do constitute this to be my last will & Testament containing one sheet of Paper this First Day of May Anno Dni 1693 (The mke of Anne Etheridge) Memorandum all Plow tack Harness & Mussmill is by this intended to be my Daughter Ann Pearces this was written before the Sealing of this will & desired to be by the Testatrix Signed Sealed & published in the prsence of Edmund Newman the mke of Anne Baxter Edmund Pearce
