In the name of God Amen the one and twentiethe daye of June 1631 and in the seaventh yeare of the raigne of our soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God of England Scotland Frannce and Ireland king defender of the faith &c I Roger Flooke of Northwood wthin the pish of Westbury in the County of Glouc Tayler sick in bodie butt of sounde and pfect memorie I thanke God therefore, doe make and ordayne this my last will and Testamt in mannr and forme following vizt. first I commend my spiritt intothe hands and protecion of Almightie God my maker and redeemer by whose infinite meritts I hope to be saved and live wth him in happie estate for ever, and my bodie to be interred in the churchyard of Westbury aforesayd. And concerning my worldly goods lands & state wch God hath lent me for this life I will devise give and dispose in mannr and forme following vizt my will intent and true meaning is, That Margarett my now wife, and her assignes shall have the use possession and accupacion as well as all that messuage or tent wth apptenances in wch I doe nowe dwell, and and one garden, one orchard and one close asioning and to the sayd messuage or tent alsoe belonging commonly called or knowne by the name of the Ruddinge, conteyninge in the whole be estimacon two acres nowe in my owne possession, Together wth all the houses edifice and buyldinge in and uppon the sayd presmisses erected & beinge wth appirtenances (All wch sayd messuage or tent and other the premisses I late bought and purchased to me my heirs and assignes for ever of William Osborne late of Bosley in the sayd pishe & county yeoman) As alsoe of all that prcell of meadowe wth appirtemamces called by the name of Dollmeadow acre lying knowne and being in the sayd pish of Westbury and Countie of Glouc late bought and purchased of William Gough of Leigh in the sayd pishe & Countie to me my heires and assignes for ever from and immediately after my decesse for and during all the residue of her naturall life, uppon condicion that she the sayd Margarett shall satisfie and pay during her sayd respective terme As well as all chieffments other rents rates paymts dueties and demands issuing due & payeable out of for & in respect of all the sayd recited messuage & premisses or any pt or pcell thereof, As alsoe keepe and maintaine all the sayd houses in sufficient repacons sencs & curlosures and nott comitt any spoyle or wast in or uppon any timber or fruite tree or trees of the sayd premisses. Item I give devise and dispose to Giles Flooke my kinsman of Stoke wth in the pish of Cleve in the sayd Countie of Glouc All the sayd messuage or tent garden orchard close and pcell of meadowe & all other the premisses wth theire & evrie of theire appurtenances afore mencioned to be svrally bought and purchased of the sayd William Osborne and William Gough as aforesayd. And all the deeds evidence and writtinge concrning the sayd premisses or any pt thereof To have and to hold all the sayd Messuage or tent and all other hafore mencioned presmisses wth appurtenances to the sayd Giles Flooke his heires and assignes to his and theire prop uses from and immediately after the sevrall decesses of me the sayd Roger Flooke & of the sayd Margarett my wife thenceforth for ever. Item I give and bequeath to the sayd Margarett my wife one bond or writing obligatorie wherein Richard Weale and John Weale his sonne stand ioyntlie bounden to me in the some of Twelve pounds for securitie of the paymt of the some of sixe pounds nyne shillings & tenn pence to me myne executors or assignes uppon a day past. Together wth the sayd penaltie sumes of money interests profitts and advantags thereof. Item I give to the sayd Margarett my wife one other bond or writing obligatorie whereby Mary Phillips widowe and John Phillips her father doe stand ioyntlie bounden to me in the some of sixe pounds for securitie of the paymt of three pounds foure shillings & tenn pence to me myne executors or assignes att a daye to come Together wth the sayd penaltie sumes of money intereste profitte and advantage thereof. Item I give to the sayd Margarett my wife the sume of Twentie seaven shillings owing to me by Willim Webb for the grasse and herbage of the sayd pcell of mead untill the purificacion of St Mary the virgin next Item I give to the sayd Margarett my wife all my kine yonge bests mare sheepe pigges and poultry of what nature or kinde soevr they are pvided alwayes & uppon condicion nevrthelesse that she the sayd Margarett her executors and assignes shall in liewe and recompense of all & evry the sayd mencioned debts & sumes of money cattles hereby before bequeathed & appointed unto her satisfie paye and delivr all and evrie such sume & somes of money & other things & chardges to such pson and psons & to and for those sevrall respective uses as are in these puts spfied expressed lymitted and declared vizt to John Houlder of Birdwood in the some of five pounds and foure shillings, due debt unto him by my specialtie att or about the feast of all Sts next, To Sarah Lisons for rent of her grounde twentie shillings att the first day of August next, To Georg Byrd tenn shillings To Xpofer Drinckwater Roger Kilford Richard Woodes Joan Tompkins and Sarah Parker to whose batizinge I was called to be a witnesse the sume of three and sixtie shillings and foure pence vizt to to evrie of them sevrally sixe shillinges & eight pence to be yearely payd henceforth unto them according to theire sevrall ages, soe that the eldest may receive his sayd sume of vjs viijd in the first yeare next ensuing my decesse and the second eldest his porcion in the second yeare after my decesse, and soe in like sort to all the rest last before named To the poore of the pish of Westbury the sume of Twentie shillings to be payd by my sayd wife to Mr Osgood vicar of Westburie aforesayd uppon the sabboth day next before the nativitie of our savior Christ next ensuinge, that the same may be distributed and payd amongst them by his appointment & discrecion for theire relief against the holy daies And also to satisfie & discharge my funerall expencs onely vizt for for my interring in such decent mannr as is convenient to my estate & degree, and such sume of money wch shalbe due the sayd Mr Osgood for & in name of a mortuary further my will and true meaning is that the sayd Margarett my wife shall have the use possession and occupacion of all my goods bedding brasse pewter wollen lynnen household stuffe & implements of household during her naturall life and I doe give and dispose these pts and prcells thereof herafter mencioned tothose psons hereafter named vizt to the sayd Giles Flooke my brasse pott wth the longest leggs, my standing bedsteed in the chamber and all my table bords benches fourmes setled and unmobeavle things situate & adioning and to my sayd messuage and other houses hereunto belonging To have and to hold to the sayd Giles from and immediately after the decesse of my sayd wife for ever Item I give to Isable Flooke my kinswoman two pewter platters, my best bed & one boulster pt and pcell of my sayd goods & household stuffe to have and to hould to her the sayd Isable from and immediately after the decesse of my sayd wife Item I give to the sayd Roger Kilford one other of my brasse potts wth short leggs pt and pcell of my sayd goods & household stuffe to have and to hould to him the sayd Roger from and immediately after the decesse of my sayd wife Item all the rest and residue of my goods bedding brasse pewter wollen lynnen household stuffe & implements of household hereby before nott bequeathed to the sayd Gyles Flooke Isabel Flooke & Roger Kilford I give devise & dispose to the sayd Margarett my wife for ever Item all other my lands specialties detts dume & sumes of money dues things and demands whatsoever hereby before nott mencioned or intended to be given devised or bequeathed to my sayd wife or to any other pson or psons before named I give and bequeath to the said Gyles Flooke whom I make my sole Executr of this my last will and Testament to pve the same in due forme of lawe And of this my last will and testamt I doe also ordeyne & appoint Richard Bosley & Richard Woodhouse the elder yomen overseers In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale the daie & yeare first above written Debts owing to the Testator
