Christmas In New
As a family, they cut
their tree and the whole family decorated it. To get ready for Christmas,
a lot of baking and cooking went on. She remembers the homemade fudge the
most. It was the most special kind and when she thinks of Christmas she
often thiks about that.
Every Christmas Eve, Mrs. Kelly said they went to Mass. After Mass they came home and it was a tradition to have soup and open one present.
On Christmas morning
there would be a great big breakfast. Mrs. Kelly said it would be exciting
opening all their gifts. Mrs. Kelly remembers getting dolls for Christmas.
Her whole bed would be full of dolls she received over a whole lot of
holidays. After their big Christmas dinner, they would go visiting. That
was lots of fun.
