years. He was the first driver of the Waco Fire Dept. Age 35. Leaves a widow
and one child. Burial today by the Waco Fire Department at Oakwood
Cemetery."

Press wrote wrote about their son:
"Houston, Carl. L. Valentine, 81,
Sat, Feb 8, in Houston, TX. Carl was b Jan 22, 1922, to Harrison M. and Maude
Worsham Valentine in Hope, Ark. He graduated at the head of his senior class as
class president of Bossier City High School in 1939. "Why I Am Proud to be
an American" was the title of his class speech. While attending Louisiana
Tech, he joined the Army Air Corps in Feb 1942. In May of 1943, while on his
26th mission, his B-24 bomber was shot down over Bari, Italy, and the crew taken
prisoners. After much planning, 13 of the prisoners escaped and hid in the
forest and in small towns. After swimming the raging Volturno River with Allied
Forces on one side and German forces on the other, Carl and one other crew
member made it safely to Allied lines, where incredulous friendly forces greeted
them. He was returned to the U.S. in November 1943, interrogated by the High
Command and instructed never to reveal the escape plan. He had many interesting
and exciting stories he always planned to put in book form. The bell tolled too
soon. In 1945 he became an operator at Cities Service Refinery, where he worked
27 years. In June of 1948, he md Elayne Farquhar. They were later divorced.
Valentine is survived by his four children, Capt. Bill Valentine, Mrs. Gail
Beresford, Carl Bruce Valentine and Barry M. Valentine; two sisters, Mrs. Nelle
Hanchy of DeRidder and Mrs. Charles A. (Bettye) Norman of Kingwood, Texas. He
was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harry V. Valentine and
Harold M. Valentine. Carl requested his body be donated to medical science, so
there will be no funeral."

November 18, 1911 in Marion, LA to Ollie and Roberta (Taunton) Andrews, she
passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 at Heritage Living Center in Conway,
Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Van C.
Worsham, her parents, and her sisters Sudie Lee Nelson, Reita Bailey and Laurice
Larance. She is survived by her children: Sue Worsham Litzenberger and husband
John of Fayetteville, GA, Nancy Worsham Jackson and husband Leo of Conway, AR,
and Van C. Worsham, Jr. and wife Susie Proctor of Duluth, GA; grandchildren
David Litzenberger of Atlanta, GA, Michael Litzenberger of Atlanta, GA, Steve
Jackson of Memphis, TN, Kevin Litzenberger of Atlanta, GA. Michael Jackson of
Shreveport, Andrew Worsham of Duluth, GA, and Michelle Worsham of Duluth, GA.
Mrs. Worsham was a homemaker, a former elementary school teacher a graduate of
Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA, and a former member of New Prospect Baptist Church
in Dubach where she taught Sunday school for many years, and a current member of
First Baptist Church of Duluth, GA. Mrs. Worsham was a former member of the
Dubach Garden Club and was an accomplished seamstress, an active worker in her
church, an amateur writer and journalist, and a loving wife, mother, and
grandmother. Memorial donations may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, 3324
Highway 167, Dubach, LA 71235.

27, 2003 at Highland Cem, Mansfield, LA. Mrs. Worsham was preceded in death by her
husband, Will Worsham; son, Jerry Benjamin; one step-son; two step-daughters; and
three brothers. Mrs. Aldie Worsham is survived by son, Gene Allen Benjamin of
Illinois; two daughters: Betty Lowe, Viola Burr, both of Shreveport, LA; sister, Eva
L. Childress of Mansfield, LA; brother, Bobby Lister of Morgan City, LA; four
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jason Burr, Jay Porter,
Robby Woods, Bobby Pettigrew, Keith Woods, and Steve Procell.

Maw-Maw's (Madge) mom died
when Madge was in 6th grade and she dropped out of school to care for her brother
and sisters. Madge taught herself to read by reading the Bible and the Shreveport
Times. As a matter of fact, after Maw-Maw died, my dad and his siblings found her
GED in her Safe Deposit Box - no one knew she even had it.

Funeral services for Lora
Mae Worsham Love, age 87, were held Tue, Aug 22 , 2006 in the Rose-Neath Chapel in
Mansfield. Visitation was Monday, August 21 from 5 - 9 p.m. Brother Jimmy Price
officiated the service. Burial followed in the Union Springs Cemetery in the Union
Springs Community under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Mrs. Love was born
Sep 17, 1918 and passed away Saturday, Aug 19, 2006 at Toledo Nursing Center in
Zwolle. She was a lifelong resident of the Converse/Union Springs area. She was
preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Will Roe Love: two sons, Jimmy Maurice
(Bo) Love, and Bobby Gene Love; a second husband Dolphus Cassell; her brother Lee
Roy Worsham and sisters Clara Bell Worsham and Madge Morton. She is survived by her
daughter, Patsy Love Hubier of Shreveport, son Bill R. Love and wife Tina of
Converse. Sisters Minneola Rutherford of Converse, Viola Burr and Betty Lowe of
Shreveport, two daughters-in-law Carolyn Love of Georgia and Joyce Ramey Love of
Converse. The grandchildren left to cherish MaMaw's memory are Jim Love, Debbie Love
Bloodworth and husband Joey, Matt Love and wife Catherine, Tracy Love, Shane Love
and wife Theresa, Shawn Love Sonnier and husband Brent, Lori Hubier Granger and
husband Joey, Charles Kevin Hubier and wife Robin, Kami Hubier Dayries, Annie Love
and Dalton Love. In addition to a host of nieces and nephews, she has 15 great
grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons Kevin
Hubier, Shane Love, Dalton Love, nephew William H. (Buddy) Rutherford Jr.; and Great
Grandsons Jon Cody Cooke and Joshua Dayries. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Ray
Rutherford, William Lynn Rutherford, Charlie Hubier, Joey Bloodworth and Joey
Granger. We would like to thank Christy, Stacy, and the Toledo Nursing staff along
with her roommate Ms. Melva Ebarb for making her stay comfortable. Our Mother/MaMaw
lived a very full and happy life and we are happy to know she has gone home to see
Pop and live in the "Big House" forever!
