Wesley Roby Sr. (never been able to find a
middle name and until I do, I'll just call him Sr.) b. abt 1809 KY whose line is a
complete blank except for a possibly brother or uncle named Hezekiah. Both Wesley Roby
Sr. and a Hezekiah Roby married into the same Holloway family in Clark Co., KY. Wesley
Sr. also was a witness as to guardianship of a Wesley C. Roby children in Monroe Co.,
MO abt 1850. Wesley Sr. married three times. #1 Ellen Talbot or Clark Co., KY and
traveled to Missouri by the 1830 census, #2 Elmira Lee a widow of Henry Lee, who had
several children of Monroe Co., MO and #3 Sarah Ivie b. TN (Wesley Jr's mother)
residing in both Monroe and Adair Co., MO. Sarah was the daughter of John Anderson
Ivie and Anna Robinson residing in Monroe/Adair Co., MO and grand daughter of Anderson
Ivie and Sarah Allred. Anderson Ivie, his wife and children, as well as the Allred
family were strongly involved in founding the Mormon Church in several states
including Missouri and Utah. There are quite a few documents written about both the
Ivie and Allred families by a Len Evans, an avid Ivie researcher. One document is
entitled the "Ivie Chronicles" and is posted on the Internet. I do know that John
Anderson Ivie and his family, traveled from Missouri to Benton Co., Arkansas between
1861-1869 with Wesley and Sarah Ivie Roby according to the 1870 census records. The
Ivie family left Arkansas and went on to Montague Co., Texas where John Anderson Ivie
later died. It seems that Wesley Sr.and Sarah must have died in Arkansas because I
find Wesley Jr. in the 1880 Henderson Co., Texas (a little father south than Montague
Co.) with his wife #1 and a child, Lily, while also raising his siblings. I've
exhausted all census records trying to find any mention of Wesley Sr. and Sarah after
1870 and there doesn't seem to be anything.

assume this photo was taken when my grandfather, Thomas Franklin "Frank" Roby was
about 7 or 8 years old because my grandfather was a small man. It probably was a year or
two after S.A. Washam died. In the photo with "Wes Roby" there are several Roby (all
belonging to Wes) as well as Hood children. My grandfather, Frank Roby, married Nina D.
Hood. The Hood children were then related to the Roby children. Flat Creek was a very
small community and most of the people were all related to one another."

My Grandfather, William Alexander McKinney was the son of Viola Wilson/Washam.
Viola married a Mr. McKinney first and remarried on his death to a Washam. Samuel was
the half brother to my grandfather. I know that Viola Washam had a daughter Lillian
Lula (I believe) that died at a young age. My grandfather married Lula Ann Winters. (I
never heard anything about my grandfather being called William A. Washam for the
census.) Anyway, William Alexander McKinney and his wife Lula Ann Winters had three
children who are the grandchildren of Viola Washam. 1st born Lillian McKinney (buried
at Prairie Point with headstone) 2nd Born Kathryn McKinney Frazier (headstone to her
memory at Prairie Point) 3rd child William Alexander McKinney II (headstone to his
memory at Prairie Pt.) W. A. McKinney II was my father. He was retired from the United
States Air Force as a Lt. Col and he and my mother, Evelyn Anna Brenner McKinney are
buried at Arlington National Cemetery Section 65. My parents William and Evelyn had
three children. 1st. Kathleen Ann McKinney Watson. 2nd-William Alexander McKinney III.
3rd-Jennifer Anne McKinney Buck. My brother and I both live in Virginia and my sister
resides in Tennessee.
I do have a few very old pictures that have Viola and children in them. One of the
three children, Viola, and one unidentified young man plus a cow, mule, chickens etc.
It is taken on the front porch of their home in Bazette. All were dressed in their
“best”. I have inherited a ring that my grandfather, William Alexander McKinney
(Alec/Alex), gave his half sister prior to her death. The ring was passed to Lillian
McKinney and she passed it on to me. Another photo I have is of Samuel C. and Alex
having a professional picture taken in Corsicana. Both have dress bowlers (sp) (hats)
and cigars!
My grandfather lived with his wife in Powell and he work at the Powell State Bank
and the Powell Cotton Gin. I believe that Mr. Burke owned both or one at the time. My
Grandmother had been a school teacher upon marriage and graduated from Texas Normal
School in San Antonio.
My aunt, Kathryn McKinney Frazier had two children, Emma Kathryn Frazier and Joe
Harold Frazier. The one surviving child, Emma Kathryn lives in Austin.
Lillian McKinney never had children and lived in Terrell, Texas until her death.
This may be of interest to all the Washam family…..My grandmother Lula McKinney and
grandfather, William (Alec) McKinney took care of Viola Wilson in their home until her
death.

b abt 1828 of Randolph, GA. The Biography of Alenson Randolph Washam, by
Helen K. Evans, claims Alanson had a brother, named Jeff L. Worsham. This may be the Jeremiah
Worsham on page 593 of the Worsham and Washam Family History.
If Jeremiah L. Worsham is a sibling, then Ann Washam is also a sibling of Alenson. A 1913 letter from J. L. Washam from the Texas Confederate Home,
Austin, TX mentions a sister Ann.

A researcher found the following (Ferrell,
2008):
I find where H. Senn joined the C/Army at
Warren Arkansas in 1862 and is present for roll call in 1863. With the exception of
the 1861, 62 and 63 I CAN NOT find any record of this 1860 family until the 1880
census and John Wesley Senn has married Mary J. Stencil [d/o James Stencil and
Martha Senn Stencil b 1836 SC - d/o Lemuel Senn and Mary V Williams, living with
them is his 80 year old grandmother Celia Worsham. I have always known through
family stories of a Grandma Worsham. I can not find any records, nor do we have any
family information on the 2 year old T. C Senn of the 1860 census, maybe he died?
The other children are John Wesley Senn [my g/grandfather] Jefferson Lafayette Senn
and George Washington Senn. I know that when James Stencil died Martha married S.
Glover. In 1910 she is living with her g/daughter Ardella Senn Rodgers. Ardella's
daughter Hazel Steadman at my mothers graveside [2002] said in the 1870's Grandma
Martha heard a Senn had moved into Drew Co, so she hitched up the wagon and went to
see what Senn and it was her BROTHER Henry whom she had not seen since before the
war. Martha and James Stencil moved from Alabama between 1860 and 1870. Martha's
brother Daniel Jackson has also moved to Arkansas about that time. He later moved to
Louisiana. Henry moved from Georgia between 1851 and 1860. All my life the old folks
said John Wesley Senn and Mary J Stencil Senn were 1st cousins, yet I find no papers
that can prove that. Martha's father/mother would have been to young to have been
Henry's parents. One of John Wesley's grandchildren named her son Lemuel after his
"grandpa". The old folks also refer to any grandparent as grandma/grandpa, cousin
so&so as cousin-no matter how far removed so it gets confusing if its g or gg or
1,2,3 cousin. When I was growing up my mother only whispered that John Wesley and
Mary J were 1st cousins, the kinship marriage was not considered a healthy thing! I
have tried to place Henry with Lemuel as a brother and can't. Brent Holcomb of
Columbia SC did some research in Columbia for me and was not able to make any
connection for Henry.
