Wilkinson.  She b abt 1846 in Chesterfield, VA.  They are in the 1880 Chesterfield Co, VA census as Alvin Worsham, age 35, and Julia F. age 28.  Patrick Worsham b Mar 1841 in the 1900 Bland, Prince George, VA census.  If he was 11 in the 1850 census, he was probably b Mar 1840 as his brother Francis was b abt 1841 & age 9 in 1850.

1.5.4.1.1.3.  Charles Clay Worsham b abt 1778.  He was age 68 in the 1850 Powhatan Co., VA Census, therefore, his birth year should be changed to abt 1782.

1.5.4.1.1.3.2.  Chamberlain J. Worsham & 1.5.4.1.1.3.5.  William Archer Worsham.  These two brothers first settled about 10 miles east of the town of Grenada on the Yalobusha River.  It is presently in Grenada Lake.  This was originally in Yalobusha County but is now in Grenada County.  Grenada County was formed out of Yalobusha County about 1870.  The old records are all in two Yalobusha Courthouses in Water Valley and Coffeeville.  (Mike Worsham, Tucson, AZ, 1999 - Mike wrote William Archer Worsham & Sarah Melissa Sossaman had a child R. E. B. Worsham b 1870 & another child Cory or Tary Worsham b May 1873. Mike also wrote that his grandmother, stated William Archer had three sets of twins.  Mike's family records are based on conversations between his mother, Eugenia Elizabeth Worsham and his grandfather Albert Sidney Worsham and his sister Ada Worsham Mitchell.

Margaret Worsham Fornash of Richmond, passed away Fri, Jun 16, 2000. She was the daughter of the late George Kennon and Margaret McKale Worsham of Powhatan, and was preceded in death by a brother, Michael J. Worsham of Richmond. She is survived by her husband, Emil Thomas Fornash; and a nephew, Michael Kennon Worsham. Mrs. Fornash was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank. Funeral Mass will be held Monday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Interment Mt. Calvary Cem.

Harry owned and operated Worsham's Used Cars. He was a charter member and usher at Bethany Baptist Church, now known as Faith Baptist Church. He loved to travel and had a great sense of humor. There are a lot of mysteries around my grandfather's life and death. My father Walter N. Worsham once told me that his grandfather (Joseph Sr.) died and left him $50. My dad said he (age 8-11) hired a detective who went into Arkansas and found out that my grandfather was murdered by two brothers named Cunningham. My grandfather had had a lot of money to by cattle. He was shot in the back and buried in a shallow grave, his money gone.

The 1880 census of Chesterfield Co, VA, lists C. A. Goode (30) as a farmer in Midlothian. His wife Alice (28) is keeping house. Also in the household is L. Harris, a 10-year-old white boy whose occupation is Apprentice Farmer.  All of them are literate. Listed as a separate household living in the same residence are Sarah Duval (50) and 4 children of hers.
The 1910 census of Chesterfield Co, VA, lists Cornelus Goode (62) as a farmer in the Clover Hill District. He owns the farm. He is a veteran of the Confederate Army. Cornelius and his wife Alice H. (54) have been married for 29 years. It is the first marriage for both. Alice has had 1 child. The enumerator wrote "1 living" and then crossed it out, so I suppose the child has died. Both are able to read and write.

Orcutt in the Clover Hill District, ED 2, p 33A, household 83. His age appears to be 50. He owns the farm numbered 73 in the farm schedule & is mortgaged. He and his wife Mollie (30) have been married for 11 years. It is the second marriage for him and the first marriage for her. Joseph has had 10 children, of whom 7 are living. Mollie has had 7 children, all of them living. These statistics indicate that there are no surviving children of his marriage to Olivia Worsham. Children listed are Lottie P. Orcutt age 19; William J. Orcutt age 11, in school; Lula A. Vernon Earl Worsham Sr., 81, of Norfolk, died May 27, 2005. Born in Richmond, Virginia on May 29, 1923, he was the son of the late Leslie and Ruth Worsham. Mr. Worsham was predeceased by his wife, Glenice H. Worsham. He was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran. Mr. Worsham retired from the N & W Railroad and later retired from the NNSY Shop 51 with 22 years of service. He was a member of the FCRV, the Virginia Beach Sandfiddlers and the Young at Heart Retirees. Mr. Worsham is survived by his sons, Vernon E. Worsham Jr. and James M. Worsham, both of Norfolk; sisters and brothers, Virginia W. Battle, Gladys W. Martin, Stuart H. Worsham, Carroll W. Worsham, all of Richmond, and L. Byron Worsham of South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Deborah Broady, Stephanie Walkuw, Michael E. G. Eugene (Gene) Worsham departed this life May 9, 2003. G. Eugene (Gene) Worsham, 71, survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy T. Worsham. Survivors include his daughter, Diane W. Williams; and son-in-law, Mark Williams; grandsons, Michael and Christopher Williams; sisters, Gladys W. Martin and Virginia W. Battle; and brothers Luther Byron, V. Earl, Carroll W., and Stuart H. Worsham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie B. and Ruth White Worsham; five sisters, Elizabeth W. Knighton, Lorine W. Platt, Helen W. Allred, Mariam W. Raikes, and Anne W. (1857-02 Rudd vs Cheatham October 1857 (Box 37) 14 September 1857 - Frederick J. Rudd and Mildred Ann h/w and James C. GATES. That Abijah Cheatham by will bequeathed to his wife Sarah Cheatham all his real estate and at her death to be divided amongst his children Mildred Ann, Abijah, Richard D., and Ann Worsham should she then be alive and in the event of her death to her children. That Sarah Cheatham the widow of the Testator has lately departed this life and that said Ann Worsham died previously to the death of the widow and having two infant children Arabella and Zeno Worsham her survivors. That Richard D. Cheatham sold and conveyed his interest in said real estate to Abijah and the interest of Abijah and the interest conveyed to him by Richard D. was conveyed in trust to secure second creditors of said Abijah and was ? land conveyed by the trustee via said deed to James C. GATES one of your complainants that Mildred Ann has intermarried with your complainant Frederick J. Rudd that said tract of contains three hundred and ninety acres and your complainants Rudd and wife are entitled to one fourth of same and your complainant James C. Gates is entitled to two other fourth Abijah and Richard D. interests making one half of the ? tract and that the infant children of the deceased Ann Worsham Arabella and Zeno Worsham are entitled to the other fourth. 1.5.4.1.1.5.  Elizabeth Worsham b abt 1788 Amelia Co., VA added as daughter of Kennon Worsham & Elizabeth Clay.  Her mother, Elizabeth was appointed her guardian along with her brother, John Worsham as orphans of Cannon Worsham, dec'd in Amelia Court for Oct Term 1794. Elizabeth was not listed in her grandfather, Henry Worsham's will of 10 Dec 1788. (Amelia Co., VA Court Orders 1792-1795, Bk 20, p 329) 

1.5.4.1.2.  Henry Worsham b abt 1754 Amelia Co., VA m Agness Kelley 19 Nov 1778 Chesterfield Co., VA He lived in Amelia Co., VA; Lunenburg Co., VA; Pittsylvania Co., VA where he died. He left a will dated 24 Nov 1815 & proved 19 Feb 1816. Descendants lived in Pittsylvania Co., VA; Prince Edward Co., VA; Campbell Co., VA; Chesterfield Co., VA; Lincoln Co., MO; Pike Co., MO; Jackson Co., OH. 

A 29 Mar 1905 letter from Sallie A. Worsham states "My great grandfather had a brother by the name of Hal or Henry. I don’t know whom he married, but he had three sons named William, John and Patrick. My great grandfather’s brother henry fought in the War of 1812 and he was also in the Battle of New Orleans in 1815." (Pam Heaton, 2001)

The 15 Dec 1900 Anaconda Standard (Anaconda, Montana):

"An amusing story, and true one, is told by Russell B Harrison on the occasion of his first visit to Bozeman. He was on his way up the street to the office of Luce & Amrstrong, and as he was passing by the hotel he stopped to watch a quarrel between George Smith, Pat Worsham and several other men who had been partaking somewhat freely of the cup that inebriates. During the scuffle one of the revelers dropped his six-shooter on the ground close to the feet of Russel B. Being very polite by nature when he was in good spirits, Mr Harrison picked up the gun and handed it to its owner, who immediately stopped quarreling with the other men and sizing up Mr Harrison said to him: "What in the h--l have you to do with this, anyhow?" The remainder of the crowd, using a great deal of abusive language, turned their attention towards Russel B and gave him the worst thrashing he ever had. ..."

1.5.4.1.2.1.2. Patrick M. Worsham b abt 1810 m Bathsheba Oakes 27 Oct 1832 Pittsylvania Co., VA.  Bethsheba b 5 Oct 1812 Pittsylvania Co., VA d/o Anthony Oakes (1782-1832) & Mary "Polly" Elliott (1788-1846). (Oakes Family Bible in poss. of Jill M. Wilson, 1991) He d. before 18 Jul 1850 when a letter was written by Margaret Oaks Kirby to her brother Jesse in Alabama, she states: "nerry one of my relation except the wider Worsham is in a church, brother Anthony's daughter." This would be Bathsheba. Another letter written by Margaret Kirby to brother, Jesse on 3 Jul 1855 reads: "Anthony Oakes family scattered all over the county. John Oakes and Bathsheba Worsham & her oldest daughter breath at the same old place." (Dreama M. Reip, 2004)

After Patrick died, Bathsheba m 2nd) George W. Adams 13 Apr 1859 Pittsylvania Co., VA. They were on the 1860 Pittsylvania Co., VA census. George is age 37 & she is age 47. Bathshiba Adams, widow of George W. Adams applied for a widow's pension on 20 Apr 1888, in Pittsylvania Co., VA. On the application form she is the widow of George W. Adams. He was a member of Co B, 38th VA regiment and she states he died in 1862 at Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond, VA due to a "disease contracted in Army" and she Also states she was married to George on 13 April 1859 in Pittsylvania County and has not remarried after his death. She was approved to receive the annual sum of $30. Copy of this application is on the Virginia Library website at http://lvaimage.lib.va.us/CP/html/04339.html 

It is believed that William Thomas Washam b 27 Apr 1840 Pittsylvania Co., VA is the son of Patrick & Bathsheba. (See New Families on the Worsham/Washam web page) In the 1840 Pittsylvania Co., VA census, Patrick has three sons listed - 2 under 5 & 1 between 5 & 10. Only one son has been identified and he is Jehu B. Worsham b abt 1838 and would be one of the sons under 5 & William Thomas is probably the other one listed as being under 5 years. In a biography written about William Thomas Washam in Jackson Co., OH, it was stated he was a son of William & Fanny (Collin) Washam & was Left an orphan when very young & when 4 years old came with his sister Mrs. Dove to Jackson Co., OH. Patrick is the son of William Worsham & Dicey Holt and had a sister, Elizabeth b abt 1812 who married Coleman Dove in 1828 and went to Jackson Co., OH before 1850. Patrick also had a brother, William Worsham b. abt 1805 who m. Frances Giles in 1826. It is believed that Mrs. Dove was William T.'s aunt, Elizabeth Dove instead of his sister.

1.5.4.1.2.1.2.1 Jehu B. Worsham "John" Henretta’s name may have been spelled Hearp. Some Pittsylvania Co, VA records spell the cemetery where they are bur. as Hearp Cem.
