From Cambridge, we went on up to the Washington
County, NY, historians office at Fort Edward. ... and dropped off another Jeanette Behan book.
Our visit here was nothing less than amazing, as only the day
before we arrived, they found a large file of our grandfather's
sister's genealogical papers. We didn't know they were
there, nor even that she was "into" genealogy. We
copied it all and brought it home.
Amazing!! And the historian was there only one day
a week, and that was the day we were there!!!

The historian said we should visit the locks nearby,
which proved most interesting. These locks allowed barges
to get around the local falls of the Hudson River near this
location. They aren't used now. |

Over the border east of Hudson Falls and Cambridge is
Bennington Memorial in Bennington, VT, which commemorates
Revolutionary battles around the area. It looks like Washington
Monument.
In the museum part, they showed an alternate design that was
considered for construction that looked much like the space
shuttle rockets on launch pad. |
