Front Row:  Elizabeth Daniels WOOD, Furney Fold WOOD, Furney WOOD Jr., John WOOD.  Back Row:  Mattie W. MORRIS, William WOOD, "Pink" WOOD, Alma WAITS, Joseph "Joe" WOOD, Lee WOOD, Charlie WOOD, and Tom WOOD.  Source:  Webster County History, 1985.  I wish I knew who had the original and submitted it!!

Well, one thing is for sure, when you find a Furnifold in your family tree, you've found something special!  I mean, at least it should be an easy name to research right? Well, actually, it isn't as unique as it sounds if you're doing research in 18th century North Carolina - you find this given name with several surnames.  I don't think that my Furnifold WOOD was the first of the Furnifolds, but whoever was must have been a special guy!
