Captain William Ives was born about 1607 in England, and died on or before November 7th 1648 in New Haven, Connecticut.  He married HANNAH.  She was born 1622, and died 1665.

Captain William Ives, arrived in Boston harbor aboard the sea vessel  Truelove, in 1635. It is quite generally assumed that William descended  from the county Norfolk family, and that he was born in North Hampton Shire, England in 1607. By some, it is claimed that he came from Yorkshire, and that he descended from one Guilbert Ives, who crossed the channel from Normandy among the followers of the Conqueror. he movements of Captain William Ives are clouded for several  years following his arrival in Boston, however it is known that Captain Ives became part of a kinship of Puritans led by Rev. John Davenport and Theophilus Eaton. These men sailed from London in the sea ship Hector and her consort, to escape religious persecutions.

Henry Stark Ives
(EDWARD E.8, JOSEPH7, JOSIAH6 JR., IVES, JOSIAH5 IVES, ELNATHAN4, GIDEON3, JOHN2, CAPTAIN WILLIAM1) was born to Edward E. and Ann Ives on February 10th 1876 in Moosic, Lackawanna County Pennsylvania. His father being a Coal Miner, Henry followed suit at eighteen, working long and hard in the dangerous coal mines of Pennsylvania. Henry volunteered and served in the 13th Infantry Regiment, Company D of the Pennsylvania Volunteers (State Militia), serving during the Spanish American War.

After the end of the war, young Henry moved west in search of a better life. One can only speculate that the call of the West, as well as the allure of Gold and Silver was reason for a young man to pull roots in search of his own.  Young Henry seemed to follow his eldest sister Clarinda who had married Andrew J. Timberlin, settling in Aspen, Colorado in 1892.

In 1899, Henry made a brief stop in Denver, being treated at the Denver General Hospital before himself moving into the mountain town of Aspen.

On April 2nd 1903, Henry married Margaret Graham in Denver, and went on to raise a family of three children as shown in the above photo. Henry and Margaret's second daughter, Edna Henrietta Ives was my Grandmother who later married George Hollis Wood in Aspen in 1932.  He was the son of GEORGE ELLSWORTH WOOD and MINNIE STEELE.  He was born January 11th 1903, and died October 26th 1986 in Lubbock, Texas

Edna H. Ives
(HENRY STARK9, EDWARD E.8, JOSEPH7, JOSIAH6 JR., IVES, JOSIAH5 IVES, ELNATHAN4, GIDEON3, JOHN2, CAPTAIN WILLIAM1) died in Denver County, CO. on December 12th, 1962.  George and Edna had four children, including my father Ellsworth Dean Wood, as well as Donald Neal Wood, Dale Henry Wood, and Diane Wood.
