Edward Bruce was born march 12, 1888, in Odebolt, Iowa, to Andrew and Margaret ( McQuistan ) Bruce. He was the oldest of four children/ His sisters were Stuart, Lillian and Marguerite.
The Family moved to a farm on Section 5 in Arlington township north of Moville in 1900 where he attended the Woodbury County Schools.
Ed served in the army during World War I as a sergeant of Battery "A" 41st Feild Artillary, He was an instructor in chemical warefare. He was a member of WInk-Sparks Post # 303 American Legion where he was 1st Vice Commander and held several other offices.
Mr. Bruce attended Sweeney Auto School in Kansas City, Missouir in 1919.
Ed helped orginize Mid-Way Park between Moville and Kingsleu. He was on the cemetery board, draft board, Arlington township trustee, and a temporary deputy sheriff.

Edward Bruce Died October 30, 1978 at the Correctionville Nursing Home where he had been for eight months. He is buried in the Arlington twonship Cemetery in Moville.
