The Mathis Family
Kesiah Jane Mathis is my Great Grandmother.
Wesley and Mary married in South Carolina. They moved to Florida for a few years, then to Georgia for a few
years. Shortly after the Creek Indian territory opened up in the 1830's, they moved to Macon county Alabama.
While they were in Macon county, Kesiah Jane met my Great Grandfather and were married in 1851. The Mathis
(and the Lowery's) moved to Covington County Alabama about 1855. They were living near the Lowery's and the
Becks.
A number of contacts have been made with people researching the Mathis but no connection has been made. The
major effort in the Mathis research is to locate the Mathis connection in South Carolina.
