Yesterday
I sent the following message to Charlou with all of you as copy
addressees. I completely "butchered" all of the copy addresses so I
am
repeating it here - and hope this infernal device does what I meant it to do
in the first place.
"If anybody is interested, here are some add notes on subject line.
It greatly disturbs me that in all the records available to me I have been
unable to find Benjamin J. anywhere in the 1850, 1860 or 1870 censuses - but
I have not finished yet. Too many other things that need to be done.

You COULD be right :-) It would be tidy to tie Benjamin to Thomas &
Caroline ... Certainly we know that census records are unreliable, as are
many of the entries in the IGI ...
Tho. & Caroline's Benjamin is shown as 9 on 1850 Jackson Co AL & 18 on
1860
born ca 1841/42 ...
we expect him to be 28/29 on 1870, 38/39 on 1880, 58/59 on 1900
and SO FAR we don't know what happened to Benjamin s/o Thomas & Caroline.

Benj. s/o Alexander & Clarissa is straight from an IGI entry, as apparently
is the birth of "Benjamin Jackson Snodgrass, b. 13 Nov 1844, Jacksonville,
Calhoun Co., AL"
So, wonder where the IGI entry came from?
I know Thomas bought his land in Jackson Co AL 1831, 1835, 1837 & 1838 ...
which rather indicates his kids were born in Jackson Co ...
