Coleman Asbury, son of unknown Asbury and Mary Compton and brother to Agnes Asbury who married James Allen Hardin. The family left Kentucky in 1847, going to "Uncle Henry's farm in Johnson County, Missouri" where they stayed one year. Coleman and James Hardin then came on the trail in 1849 to Sonoma and worked for Vallejo for two years before James Hardin went back to Independence for the rest of the family.
