Said by an anonymous article in the Alta California 4 Oct 1859 (as reported by Robert Parmalee "Pioneer Sonoma") that "Ben and Sam Kelsey who crossed the Sierra Nevada with their wives, in 1845, have left [Sonoma], and now reside in Humboldt county, it is said."
