Note: Johannes was born and raised on the family farm near Palmyra, Lancaster Co. (now Lebanon Co.) He signed the oath of alligiance to the Commonwealth of PA 2 Jun 1777 and records show he had duty in Bucks Co. as 5th class in the 2nd Batt. during the Rev. War ( Rev. War Soldiers buried in Lebanon Col by Christine E. Weaver).
In 1784 he signed a petition to have the county seat moved from Harrisburg to the city of Lebanon.
He died of consumption in 1808 at the age of 58. In Johannes's will (Dauphin Co. Court House C93-3) he mentions all of his children except George.
