[S683] In 1831, Elizabeth and husband signed a deed on his deceased father's property. In about 1834, her youngest known daughter was born. In 1839, her husband applied for a marriage license to marry Julia Ann Cutler. This places her date of death between 1834 and 1839.

"Daughter of Peter and Jane Moore, was born at Fairview, in Guernsey Co, Ohio, Dec 7, 1844. On Oct. 7, 1863, she was united in marriage to Josiah Davis Walston at Oxford Junction. To this union were born six children: George who died in infancy, Mrs. George Coleman of Hale; Mrs. E.C. Vaughn of Wyoming; Mrs. A.L. Kraft of Monticello; Josiah D. Walston of Brainard, Minn; and Mrs. Prudence Snow of Vinton, Iowa. ...two brothers living. ... Iowa City Sept. 24, 1917. Burial at Oxford," no date of burial given.

To son Boze one negro boy called Peter. One negro woman called Pleasant to be sold for cash for which money she shall bring when sold I give into my son Obed Walston. To my son Leven one negro boy called Levin. Son Boaze to pay son Charles Walston eight pounds in gold or silver. to daughter Ann Mary Hollaway one shilling sterling. Daughter Sophia Trahearn my best beds and furniture and my black "Crape Gound and one lincy woolsey pittecote." To granddaughter Sarah Trahearn one linen "Wheal." Daughter Sarah Spears my next bed and furniture. Granddaughter Nancy Spears my new "chintes gound and green petocote". Equally divides balance of estate between sons Charles and Levin Watson, Billy Windsor, Sarah Spears, Sophia Trahearn and children of daughter Ann Mary Hollaway to have their mother's part. Balance of clothing to be divided between her three daughters Betty, Sarah and Sophia Trahearn. Executor son Levin. Ann makes her mark. She said Julia Ann Walston was her grandfather's first wife. Of course this is wrong. I could get no explanation for the name `C. Eleven Walston.'" [This quotation per H'worth to L. Walston.] Photocopy of handwritten page by Mrs. Litterick in possession of Win Wood and has been verified to the listing below. Mrs. Litterick wrote, "This is a list of the Walston family my father had." "C. Eleven Walston, born Jan 6, 1794; Julia Ann Walston, Nov 2, 1817; Elizabeth Walston, June 6, 1841; Sidna Louisa Walston, June 20, 1842; Olive Hanah Walston, Nov 26, 1843; Matilde Alice Walston, May 12, 1844; Willis Walston, May 3, 1846; Marion Clay Walston, Dec 17, 1847; Cynthia Jane Walston, Nov. 23, 1851; George Washington Walston, Oct. 11, 1853; Milton Corwin Walston, May 28, 1855; Julia Ann Walston, August 28, 1858".

"...Josiah Walston and Margaret his wife, Tobias Robison and Anna [later Ann] his wife, William Walston and Nancy his wife, Levin Walston and Elizabeth his wife, [Levin and Elizabeth both sign their names] all of Pickaway County, OH .. $230.75 to James Walston of same place. dated 4 Mar 1831, Rec. 27 Aug 1831. Witnesses Phenas Cade [Possibly Thomas P. Cady, Elizabeth's brother-in-law] and Williams Mills." The land described in this deed matches the land Obed Walston purchased per Deed Book A, p. 660, less several acres sold to son William before Obed Walston's death.

Photocopy supplied by Arlene Hanneman Apr 1995. ."..William Walston of Somerset County being weak in body but of Perfect Mind... to son Charles Walston my gun... grandson John Windsor a two year old heifer... beloved son Leavin Walston my Chest and a case of Pistols... my beloved son Obed Walston the first Horse Colt that ever my Mare shall Bring... well beloved wife Anne Walston all my Estate in lands goods & Chattels Beds & furniture and all my living of what kind so ever during her widowhood... After the decease of my said wife's widowhood ... unto my son Booz Walston.. for ever my Dwelling Plantation... called Desart... unto my beloved children Charles and Leaven Walston... Jointly Heirs... land called Winter Harbour and... London... and London's Advisement..." Son Booz appointed executor. Signed William Wallston. 3 Feb 1778, Ann Walston relinquished several bequests. On the same day, son Boaz Walston presented the will for probate.

[S2596] Obituary of Rose Walston, from an unknown newspaper, supplied 12/2002 by Dave Allison < e-mail address>, who found it in a Bible. "Mrs. Bryant, the mother of Mrs. J. H. Jackson, who had been living with her mother on north Talbutt street, died on Monday evening at 9:30 o'clock. Mrs. Byrant was 80 years old. The remians were interred in the city cemetery on Tuesday afternoon. A son of the deceased, who lives near Golden City, was in attendance at the funeral on Tuesday. Obitruary. Rosann Walston Bryan was born in Ross county Ohio, February 22, 1822. She died in Greenfield, Mo., April 14, 1902. She was married to John Bryan in 1843 and moved with him to Jones county, Iowa, in 1847, where they lived until 1881, in which year Mr. Bryan died. For the past thirteen years she has been living with her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Jackson. Five children survive her, two sons and three daughters. She united with the Presbyterian church when she was nineteen years old and had since lived a consistant life".
