Earl Etna Emerson born April 20, 1872 Died Aug 3, 1916, aged 4 years 3 months 14 days. His parents Charley and Mary Emerson resided on their farm west of Olin, where Earl was born and reared to childhood. He was the second child of the first family of seven of whom two sisters and one brother are the surviving members. There are three half brothers and two sisters all of whom are living. On September 11, 1895 he was united in marriage with Hulda Brady... To this union were born 8 children two of whom have preceded their father. Owen, who passed away December 17, 1905 and little Gwendolyn Carol who died March 19, 1909. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, one daughter Mrs. Margery Bell, of Olin and five sons, Eugene, Leonard, Elvin, Harlan & Melford all at home... Funeral Services Sunday afternoon... Interment made in Olin cemetery".

Liced in this vicinity all his life. Died Jan 3, 1938 at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 19 days. On Jan 19, 1881 he united in marriage with Sarah Ida Messingham. To this union two children were born. Jennie and Gilbert of Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Emerson died in 1890. His lonliness was broken by his marriage Jan 18, 1893 to Minerva Jane Rodman. This union was blessed with one daughter and one son. Martha Estel Kelley who died two years ago and Chancey L. who died when past a year old. Besides his bereaved wife and children, Mr. Emerson leaves one brother, Fletcher near Anamosa. Funeral services... Friday afternoon...interment was made at the Green cemetery".

Wesley never married again. There are three left ot mourn his departure, three brothers - George of Marathon, Iowa, Fletcher of Anamosa and Joseph of Olin. Two sisters are also left behind - Mrs. Retta Dilley of Olin and Mrs. John Brown of Anthon, Iowa. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 11 in the Center Church...".

Lodema Ann Emerson was born April 10, 1854, at Olin, Ia. and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.D. Sanford, in Correctionville, Nov. 23, at 8 p.m., being 78 years, 7 months and 12 days of age. She was married to Frederick Kentz in 1872. One daughter, ... was born to this union. In July 1875, her companion passed into the great eternity, leaving her and baby daughter. ...she was married to John Brown in January, 1880. Four sons were born to this wedlock: Clyde and William, Melvin and Clarence. Her second companion passed to his reward in March, 1930. ...two brothers Joe and Fletcher Emerson. Services held Friday November 25. ...interment in Oak Hill cemetery."
