On the top of page 14 is written, "This sketch is from Mr. Jim Mechem of Anderson, a descendent of Andrew and Lucinda (Brown) Christy." "The next will be the Brown and Christy History Grandmother Mechem Father and Mother and her sisters Brother and their children. Grandfather Christys name was Andrew. he had a bro Bea. Grandmother christy Name was Lucinday Brown. She was born south carolinas and was married to Andrew Christy april 9, 1840. she had two Sisters, Betty Nash Pop Lee, ... 2nd daughter Nancy Margaret born 3 May 1844 died when 15 or 16 of T.B. at Whitehall west of Bloomington Mary Jane Jan 2 - 1847 died young T.B. Martha F Married a Dowell was born June 12, 1849 died T.B. ... Sarah An Christy born Feb 23 - 1852 died in Infancy. Amanda Elvira Christy born June 26 - 1853... Eliza E. Christy Married a Brown she died with T.B. Born Feb 25 Feb 1856... Cintha Josephine Born May 30 - 1859 Married Geo Freeman... Joseph Christy was born July 18 - 1862 died Nov 1 - 1892 he was married twice, first to Rene Clark they separated ... second wife was Lizzie Mount. No children he died of Typhoid fever when 30 years old and is buried at Kempton Cemetery. he was the only Son of the Christy family. Grandmother died two or three wks (?) after Joseph with Typhoid fever also."

John Emmitt." [The recordings on the page are all different dates and appear to be recordings of separate pieces of paper. The five recordings have 4 different ministers, J.P.'s., etc.].

[S716] No record of their marriage has been found in UT, WY or NE under the name of Jackman, Sherwood or Critchley. We visited these court houses and did the searches ourselves after having written to the them. Marguerite Jackman, who kept the family records, did not have a correct date for this marriage. She just had a year listed but said she "just put that in".

[S723] Janice Roseberry writes Mar 2000, "Concerning Joseph A. Sims, mother's name. In the 1860 census, he was 4 years old. The 'mother' in the listing was Mary E. age 30, born in KY. The 1870 census shows him 14 years old and again the 'mother' is listed as Mary E. age 37. I know the census doesn't always relate a 10 year increase in the ages of people. Such is the case in several of the children listed for this family in the 1870 census, not just Mary E.".

"Emma Beatrice Byrd, youngest daughter of Henry & Lucy Byrd was born on a farm north of Olin, Dec 14, 1905 and died at Los Angeles Aug 18 of bronchial pneumonia following an operation. ... lived New Mexico and after the death of her father Oct 6, 1923, she moved to Cedar Rapids where she was married to Frank Davis July 20, 1924. She leaves a husband, a daughter Sonya Sharlene of Los Angeles, her mother Mrs. Lucy Byrd of Olin a brother Hallie of Olin, two sisters Mrs. Corda Lyons of Cedar Rapids and Letha Rook of Los Angeles. Funeral services Tuesday... Burial was in the Olin cemetery".
