He was born June 27, 1871, at Tyrone, the son of Samuel and Mary Etta Reel. He was twice married, first to Florence May Simons, who died March 26, 1902, and then to Grace Edna Lewis Sept. 20, 1905, in Altoona. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Esther Stansbury and one son, Samuel, both of Detroit; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Goheen of Cornwall and Mrs. Effie Koren of Irvington, N.J. One son, Harry C. Reel, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Columbia Avenue Methodist church, the Odd Fellows lodge of Tyrone, the Junior Order United American Mechanics and the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder company. He retired as a janitor from the Adams avenue school. Friends will be received at the Johnson funeral home, Tyrone, after 7 o’clock this evening.
