Christianna Boger1,2,3 (F) b. 6 December 1795, d. 18 February 1882, #996 |
| Father* | | Mathias Boger Jr. |
| Mother* | before 29 May 1759 | Barbara Foerster |
| Biography* | | Orphan's Court records of Franklin County, PA, (FHLC 323838) Book C, p. 68, about 1825, state "On motion of T. H. Crawford, Esqr Rule on Jacob Stake surviving executor of Matthias Boger decd to file his account of said estate on or before the 26th instant. Page 81, "14 June 1826 [blank] Boger minor child of Matthias Boger." No indication is given of the child's name. If it was Christianna, she would not have been 21 yet, but census records clearly indicate that she was born about 1794/95. Christianna should have been 21 about 1816 and would not have been a minor when her mother passed away. An indenture dated 9 Apr 1817, between Samuel Liggett of Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, of the one part and William Cox and Christina Boger each of Hamilton Twp, Franklin County, for the sum of 300 dollars United States money sold "2 acres 14 perches on the road from Chambersburg to Weiland's Mill originally granted in 1785 to Joseph Swan and sold in 1804 to Samuel Liggett, ...William and Christina as tenants in common." This is probably an investment of money received from her parent's estates. (Book 10, p. 647.) |

- [S177] Bromfield Gilmore ancestors and descendants compiled and supplied Mar 1998, by Holly Burt, <e-mail address> or <e-mail address> Much of Holly's information was collected by her grandmother who was in contact with Connie Kirkendall in 1969, This compiler was aware that a Martha Kirkendall was born about 1834 before James Kirkendall's marriage to Delilia Gilmore. This Martha Kirkendall received a full portion of John Gilmore's estate and also a full portion of James Kirkendall's estate. She was listed in the 1850 census as Martha Gilmore, living with the Bromfield Gilmore family. Bromfield had been appointed as her guardian. Ray Brumfield's "Descendants of Thomas Brumfield" lists a Kate Gilmore who married Jacob Ketner, but Jacob Ketner's wife was Caroline Gilmore. Mrs. Burt's grandmother's data indicates that Catherine Gilmore was a separate daughter of John and Nancy Gilmore's and that she was married to James Kirkendall. She was the mother to two children (Martha was one of them) and she then died. Shortly after that, James Kirkendall married her sister Delila.
