[S2598] Obituary of Eliza (Brown) Porter, supplied by Jacquie Jones 11-2002, "Eliza Angeline Porter, wife of Hugh Porter, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cora Light, near Lebanon, Ind., about Aug. 1, 1938. She was 97 years of age and lived nearly all of this long life time in Clay township. Her husband died about 50 years ago, but she continued to live on the old home place, near Adel, till a few years ago, when she went to live with her children. There was a family of 8 chidren, 5 of which survive David, Benjamin, Izzie, Dora and Cora. She was a daughter of David Brown, who reared his family a mile southeast of Freeman, and she is the last one of the old Brown family. This family was truly a pioneer family of Clay township. She was buried at Heddings Chapel beside her husband and children".
