Pleasants County Leader - April 23, 1903 

OLD AND ESTEEMED CITIZEN DEAD 

Jno. Wingrove is dead. His death was due to a complication of diseases, and occurred at his home at Pleasants Valley on last Saturday morning. In his death the county loses a valuable citizen, the wife a faithful husband and the children a solicitous father. The deceased was a G. A. R. veteran; was 63 years 9 mos. and 9 days of age, and leaves a wife and four children to mourn their irreparable loss. The four children are: Rev. J. W. Wingrove, Gunville; Eugene Wingrove, Sistersville; Frank Wingrove, East Liverpool, O.; and Mrs. Ida Treadway, Waverly. 

The funeral services were held at the Pleasants Valley M. E. Church, of which he was a devout member, on Tuesday morning.
After the services his remains were taken to the family burying ground near Waverly to sleep until His coming.
