EIGHT SONS AT WAR, 1 DEAD, 2 WOUNDED
Pte William Wingrove is the Third Causality in One Family
East Toronto Sept 6- Mrs. William Fred Wingrove
of 16 Diver Street has been officially notified by the military authorities that
her husband Pte Wingrove has been wounded in the head the right foot and has
been admitted to the General Hospital in France.
The family live in a humble house on the outskirts of the city limits. 'My
husband is thirty years of age.' remarked Mrs. Wingrove, 'and he is the oldest
of eight sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wingrove of Northampton, England. Every one
of the boys s fighting for hte King. One has paid the supreme sacrifice since
enlisting from Canada, that is Pte. A Wingrove; another
is a prisoner in Germany, Pte George Wingrove and now word has come that
my husband is lying in the hospital.
The family has been in Canada 14 years. Pts Wm Wingrove enlisted two years ago
this fall with the 166th Regiment. He was a bricklayer by trade. He was wounded
for the first time on August 26

you desire at a cost of $0.20 per page. Each researcher is limited to 250 photocopies per
calendar quarter. Please provide the full archival reference (RG 150, accession 1992-93/166,
service number or rank [if an officer], full name, box (or volume) #, sequence #) for the
military personnel file(s) that you require. A prepayment of $40.00 CAN is required.
If you prefer, this pre-payment may be made by international money order, payable to the
"Receiver General for Canada" and mailed to the National Archives of Canada with
your request for copies. After the cost of the order has been deducted, any refund from
the $40.00 CAN will be sent to you within 30 days after the mailing of your photocopy
order. Only residents of Canada can send a personal cheque for their pre-payment.
The National Archives of Canada also accepts payment by Visa or MasterCard. For
pre-payment
by credit card, please include the credit card number and the expiry date. When the copies
have
been produced, the exact amount of the order will be charged to your credit card account.
If you intend to order photocopies on a frequent or ongoing basis, you may wish to
establish a
deposit account with the National Archives of Canada. A minimum of $100.00 CAN is required
to
open a deposit account. For information regarding setting up and paying for a deposit
