The WINGROVE name and most of the variations seem to spring from the UK. Indeed some late 1700 maps have the present village of WINGRAVE listed as WINGROVE and there is a high concentration of the WINGROVE name throughout Buckinghamshire.

Some WINGROVES listed in the 1840, 1850 USA Census, list Ireland and Germany as the county of origin

Today the WINGROVE surname is found in various counties throughout UK as well as in USA, CANADA and AUSTRALIA.  Smaller occurrences are to be found in S Africa, Asia, France, Netherlands and other areas as well.
