Wingrove, aged 82 years, well known
resident of Alpena for many years, died this morning at 7 o'clock at her home,
1003 Third Avenue, corner of Campbell street. Death was due to hardening of the arteries with which she had been ill for some time.
Miss Wingrove was born November 4, 1854 in Walsingham
township, Norfolk county Ontario. About 60 years ago she came to Alpena and
resided here until about 15 years ago when she left for Ogden Utah, to reside with two of her sisters. She returned to Alpena in November
1936 and lived at her home with her sister Mrs. Susie Mathews.
Miss Wingrove will be remembered by many as a
saleslady for a
hosiery concern here for many years.
Surviving Miss Wingrove are four sisters, Mrs Susie
Mathews and Mrs Alfred Manning, Alpena; Mrs
Ella Ellsworth and Miss Ida Wingrove of Ogden Utah.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock at the home with Rev. W. B. Jarman of the First Baptist church officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery [Alpena MI] .
