Sunday Morning May 30, 1926.
David S Wingrove Funeral services for
David Spiller Wingrove, who died Friday at the South Baltimore
General Hospital will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the home, 132 East Montgomery
Street. The Reverend W.A. Melvin ,pastor of Lowes Methodist Episcopal
Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Loudon Park Cemetery.
Mr. Wingrove who was 69 years old, is survived by a son, Detective David F. Wingrove and five
daughters, Mrs. Betty Uhlenberg, Mrs. Margaret Davis, Mrs.
Priscilla Brooks, Miss Mary Wingrove and Miss
Emma Wingrove.

Mr. Wingrove has had ten years' experience as a mechanical, refrigerating and ice machine
engineer and will cheerfully give any information to brewers, butchers,
oil works, hotels, cold storage and other public buildings, who may desire to invest or
become familiar with the construction, erection and running of refrigerating or ice machines ,whether applied by direct expansion of ammonia or brine
circulation. For the past two years he has been the agent in Maryland,
Virginia and the District of Columbia for the National Oil Works and Mill Supply
Company, manufacturers of oils, railway and axle greases and mill supplies of all
kinds, with offices in New York, St. Louis, Baltimore, New Orleans,
Houston and Little Rock. The premises occupied for trade purposes by Mr. Wingrove comprises an entire two-story building,
18 x 120 feet in dimensions and a splendid stock of supplies is constantly
carried, embracing machinery for brewers and bottlers, upright duplex double-acting air pumps ,horizontal and duplex double-acting liquid
pumps, Corliss
engines, refrigerating machines etc. The various goods represented in the assortment are of standard and reliable quality and selected under the eye of Mr. Wingrove ,who is a man of ripe experience in the business,
thoroughly conversant with all the wants and requirements of the trade.
The business is broadly distributed throughout the country and many leading
brewers, mills and manufacturers make all their purchases at this
establishment, being attracted by the honorable methods in force, the superior inducements offered ,and the
emminately satisfactory manner in which their orders are fulfilled.
Among its patrons ,to whom reference is made, may be named Mr. George
Bauerschmidt, the well-known brewer of this city; also, W. P. Harvey &
Co., J. F. Wiessner, T.
C. Basshor & Co., Bay View
Brewery, Henry Eigenbrot, Wehr-Hobelman-Gottleib B & M
Co., and J. A. Strauss & Bro., all of Baltimore. Geo. Rochevot,
Buffalo N.Y., Oscar Mayer, Morisania N.Y., Robert Portner Brewing
Company, Alexandria Va.; Chris Henrich, Washington D.C.; Peter
Schramm, Philadelphia Pa; No house is in the country is better prepared to minister to the public want in this
line, while the management is worthy of every trust and confidence. Orders by telephone No. 785-3 or by mail receive immediate
attention, and terms and prices are always made satisfactory to the
trade. Mr. Wingrove is a native of Richmond, VA, and a resident of this city for the past
twenty years.

WINGROVE- On the morning of the 31st of May,
after a long and severe illness. THOMAS WINGROVE in the 60th year of his age .Mr. Wingrove was born 17th of September 1811 in
Wilton, Wiltshire England, but was a resident of Richmond VA., for many

(nee Fuller).
Funeral services at the William Cook Mansion, St. Paul & Preston Streets,
on Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Interment in United States National Cemetery,
Baltimore.
DAVID F WINGROVE
The death of David F. Wingrove, 10 times commended
during 25 years as a member of the Baltimore Police Department, was announced yesterday.
Mr. Wingrove, a lieutenant of detectives at the time of his retirement for ill health on November 22,1945 died in a veterans' hospital .He served in World War 1. A native
Baltimorean, Mr.. Wingrove was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David

After receiving elementary education in the public schools, Mr. Wingrove attended the Maryland Institute. He first entered the police department in October
1920. In January,1925, he was made a detective patrolman, promoted to detective sergeant in 1929 and made a
lieutenant in April 1943. Because of failing health, he was retired in November of last
year, Capt. John Carey ,night commander of the police department said.

- WINGROVE BATHON -
Former City Editor of Washington Post Dies-
Special to the New York Times
WASHINGTON, April 18,- Wingrove Bathon, 52 years old, former city editor of the Washington Post, died this
morning at Saranac Lake N.Y., following an operation for appendicitis, it was learned here.
Mr. Bathon was born in Baltimore on Sept, 26, 1876, the son of Joseph G. and
Mary Wingrove Bathon. Coming to Washington from New York, he became city editor of
The Post and later was on the news staff of The Evening Star.
At one time Mr. Bathon was Washington representative of the McGraw Hill Publishing Company
and correspondent of The Electrical World, He was married in 1909 to Miss Lelia
Wilson, daughter of the late Henry C. Wilson of Boston.
