Harriet Isadore Thorp [w/o Ruben Wingrove] is a daughter of William Pleasant Thorp, and the sister of my great grandfather, Charles W. Thorp, the 5th child of William Pleasant Thorp. 

My great grandmother Zenith Womack and great grandfather, Charles W. Thorp are buried in Merrilltown Cemetery (an extremely old cemetery) in Travis County, Texas, in what is now North Austin. At one time they owned a very large tract of land in an old town called McNeil, Texas (north Austin). The road is still there to the house. Today that land is now part of what is known as the Austin White Lime Company. 

My grandfather, John Monroe Thorp, was one of the sons of Charles and Zenith (nicknamed, Zena). He later changed his name to Monroe John Thorp because there was another John Thorp who everyone kept getting mixed up with...(so the story goes). 

Monroe married Ella Miranda Saunders (my grandmother) in Travis County Texas (don't remember when). Monroe and Ella are buried in the Fiskville Cemetery (another old cemetery) in Austin, Travis County, Texas) in the "Saunders/Sherman" family plot which dates back to the 1700's. 

My dad, Chester Saunders Thorp, was born in McNeil, Texas on October 5, 1911. He had two sisters: Grace Thorp Crowley [mar. to George Louis Crowley], and Essie Thorp Kolb. 

Of those three, only two children were produced: me (Catherine Thorp Henry, born in San Antonio, Texas) and my cousin (Geraldine Crowley Wells, born in New York City, New York).

My cousin and I are trying to retrace our roots and would welcome any information on the family.
