Sorting out the Wingrove, Wingrave or Thurgood Families
     in Australia
     A submission from Judy Thurgood

Nov 2008

Just for accuracy on your family history website there is no Susanna Baker. Jonathan Grim was only married to one woman and that is Susanna Wilt. I have proof that her name is WILT.

I am still conducting research on the Wilt family. Susanna Wilt appears to be the daughter of George Wilt. He was born about 1775 and is seen in the 1820 Census in Berlin, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. He is later seen in the 1830 Census in Salt Lick Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Susanna Wilt married Jonathan Grim about 1825. George Wilt is seen in the 1840 and 1850 Census in Falls Township, Hocking County, Ohio. I have seen unsourced material on RootsWeb and possibly ancestry.com that George Wilt died in 1864 in Falls Township, Hocking County, Ohio. However, there is a man with the name George C. Wilt seen in the 1860 Census in Bullskin Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania that was born about 1775. He apparently moved back to Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

George Wilt is the son of Samuel Wilt. He was born supposedly on March 25, 1750. He died on September 17, 1830 and is alledgedly buried at Lambertsville Cemetery, Stonycreek Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. He is not listed in the transcript for that cemetry.
