MELCROFT CEMETERY
SALTLICK TWPThis cemetery is just out of the village of Melcroft, PA.
Take RT 711 through Melcroft going toward Jones Mill, PA. Just as you go through the village look to the left for a mobile home park setting on the hill. Turn into the park, the cemetery is on up the hill behind the park. It is rather large.

SALTLICK TWPWebmaster: Seneff Cemetery Old Seneff Farm
Found several cemeteries that are fairly well taken care of BUT are off the beaten path. They might be listed but I will list them for those who might have overlooked them. (let me know if they are listed). #1 Go to Normalville, Pa go toward Ohiopyle. Just as you leave Normalville turn left on SR 653. Go bottom of hill and cross bridge, (White's Bridge) turn left after crossing bridge. You will come to a Y, the main road turns left. GO Straight until you cross a small bridge turn right onto dirt road as soon as you cross bridge. The road splits. Take the one on right go 1-6/10 miles (this road is rough dirt but you can drive a car on it if you take it easy). Turn right, go 2/10 mile turn right again go 1/10 mile cemetery on right.

UNNAMED CEMETERY
SALTLICK TWPThis Cemetery is rather large, but off the beaten path on a dirt road. I would think that some that are buried here came from poor families as some markers are just slabs of cement with lettering painted on. Some markers are recent and fancy. To get there go to Normalville, PA. Go toward Ohiopyle, just as you leave Normalville you will turn left on RT 653. Go down hill cross bridge and turn left. Go until you come a Y. You will bear right. Shortly you will cross a small bridge. As soon as you cross bridge turn right on to Brown Rd. The road splits as soon as you get on it, take the road to the left. Go until you see a white mobile home on right, turn left on Hillview Rd. When you get to top of hill you will see cemetery on right.

UNIONDALE CEMETERY - COLORED
SOUTH UNION TWPThis cemetery is one of the few all Negro Cemeteries in the country, as told by the lady who lives next to it. They cut weeds to most of readable stones. She also said some stones were pushed over and buried several years ago. She said it is known as the UNIONDALE CEM. The Cem. is overgrown with large trees and briars. I had found one stone 10 feet off the road sometime ago. I was told later that there were more back in woods So I went to look.
To Get there take RT 119 South to Morgantown Rd. Turn right. You will see woods on left across the road from Laurel Highlands Nursery. Go to edge of woods. Look along right side of woods as you face it. Walk back about 125 yards.

PRICE -- COLLINS CEMETERY
STEWART TWPFound this one along a road I have traveled many many times and until yesterday never saw it. To find it go to Ohiopyle, PA. Follow the signs to go to campgrounds. You will go up a steep curvy hill when you get to top there is a intersection. Turn left, after you go 1/10 mile look ahead to left over the red barn you will see head stones. Go to the old farm house (has been restored and is beautiful). Ask permission. When I did they said "sure go
look at them." The stones have been reset and grass is cut.Jane Holland 1820--1827

THORPE CEMETERY,
STEWART TWPThis Cemetery is known as the Thorpe Cemetery. I was told to get there go to Ohiopyle and take the road to Kentuck Knob Campground of Ohiopyle State Park. When you get to Kentuck Road go straight, down the hill. Go up the next hill, when you get to top the road will turn right and a narrower road goes straight. Go straight, Cemetery is on right about 300 yards.

Cemetery is cut and well taken care of, most graves had flowers. Being that it is out of the way and in a place you wouldn't think of looking. I thought I would list it.

STRICKLER CEMETERY.
UPPER TYRONE TWPI may have posted this before I really got into this cemetery hunting. But to be sure, here it is. This is the old Strickler Cem. It is located on the river hill about 1 mile from the Hickory Square Church To find it take RT 119 North out of Connellsville, PA. Just as you are leaving town you will see a Advance Auto parts store on right, just before it you turn left across a small bridge. You are headed to Broadford. Stay on this road, you will go down a steep hill with several curves. At the bottom you will cross railroad tracks. The main road turns to right you will see a road to the left going up a hill. Turn left up hill, about 3/10 af a mile you will see a road to left (Valley Road) turn on to it. Go abt. 2/10 mile until you see a field onleft, on a curve. Stop walk up bank to field, on top of hill to right you will see a point of woods running out into the field about 1/2 mile away. This is where the cemetery is. Walk around the edge of field to get to it.
This cemetery is surrounded by a 4 foot stone wall is grown up with trees 1 foot in, and blackberry briars. There are several unmarked field stones, some stones on the ground possibly some buried in leaves and brush.Frances Strickler died 1838 age 66

WARTON TWPFound 2 cemeteries that are on the PA-WV line. Take RT 40 East out of Uniontown, PA. Go to top of the Summit Mt. just at top turn right toward Laurel Caverns on Laurel Caverns Rd. Stay on this road until you come to a Y. Take the right road (Skyline Rd.) 3 3/10 miles to Wirsing Rd. Turn right, go 2 miles, turn right. This road is dirt and rough but take it easy and a car can travel it. Go to bridge, stop look to left you will see a large rock blocking a old road. Walk past the rock about 175 yards to cemetery. This is known as the Maust Cemetery.
