married Frederick Lacey 04 Aug. 1910 in [Winlaw] Lauder ManitobaFrederick Lacey was born at Handy Cross, High Wycombe in 1875. His first trip to Canada was in 1905. He worked on a steamer at harvest time in the Dakotas, then moved to Lauder Manitoba. Fred Lacey made a couple of trips to Canada before he decided to come to stay.

Rose Catherine Wingrove's father was William Wingrove who " had been married three times. The last marriage was to Anne Avery " . William Wingrove Sr was a game keeper for the Witherhead family of Brewery fame. He moved on to Bradenham Hill, Berkshire England where he took care of the Commons as a game keeper for the Dashwood family. Rose Catherine came to Lauder Manitoba, Canada in 1910. Rose had met Fred in England and had dated before he came to Canada. Rose also had a brother William Jr. Wingrove. He came to Canada to live and took up a homestead in the Ibstone district in 1912. He passed away in 1950 in Battleford and was buried in the Anglican Church Cemetery at Prongua, Saskatchewan."

Fred and Rose Lacey moved to the Wilkie District shortly after their marriage in 1910. They homesteaded at the unnamed district of Ibstone. When the school was built it was named from the submission from Fred after his old home in England - Ibstone. They built a little house on the homestead. Fred breaking the land with a team of oxen and a walking plow. Their first child Flora Polly Lacey was born in Wilkie October 3, 1911. Ruth Catherine, Ruby Jean, Harry William, and Frederick David Lacey were all born at Ibstone with only a midwife present. James Owen Lacey was born on the farm west of Prongua after a move from Ibstone in 1918. Helen Irene Rosalie and Robert John were born in Battleford.
Fred was to get a job as drayman in Battleford, trading the homestead to Sam Kipp for a team of mules. He was also a janitor of the Anglican Church.
In 1924 the family moved to the Frank Huggett farm in the Cleveland District. Annie Elizabeth was born there November 16, 1924. At a later point in time the family moved to the Prongua District. Russel Andrew George and Winnifred Elsie were born at Johnson's Nursing Home south of Battleford.
In 1948 Fred and Rose Lacey moved to Drummond Creek. All the children had left the homestead and Fred at 73 years of age was no longer able to care for the farm. They had a little house with their daughter and son-in-law Nellie (Helen) Lacey and Stan Russell. Fred and Rose finally retired to the west coast of Canada and settled in Alberni in 1950. Rose Catherine passed away in 1952 and Frederick in New Westminister in August of 1962. They are both laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery, Port Alberni British Columbia Canada.
