Very active in Carlisle Ontario. He
served on the township council in the 1940's and 50's as councilor,
deputy reeve and reeve. He became warden of Wentworth County in 1954.
He was also one of the original members of the Twelve Mile Creek
Conservation Authority formed in 1958
