Linn Frank Wingrove was born on July 27, 1903 to Nelson and Dora Wingrove.
He was raised on the homestead farm south of Arion near Buck Grove Iowa. He was educated in a rural school near his home and his mother earned a little extra money by boarding the teacher. Linn enjoyed working the farm, breaking horses and playing baseball for the neighboring towns. On July 27, 1936, he was united in marriage to Martha Aberhardt.
Martha Ellen Aberhardt was the daughter of Arnold Aberhardt and Anna . She received her education in the Dow City school system, graduating from Dow City High School in 1927. Martha helped her mother raise her nephew Donald Laubscher. After graduation, Martha took a teaching course in Ida Grove before returning home to help her mother. Linn passed away on February 14, 1978, at the age of seventy-five due to emphysema. After retirement Martha worked as a cook at the Dow City school and worked part time at Ettleman's Cafe. She enjoyed her card club, church activities, her children and grandchildren and her many friends. Martha died on March 17, 1980, at the age of seventy-five due to cancer.[1] Linda Wingrove
