Records from the Commissioner of Pensions, dated October 29, 1869 show that
John Wingrove
was enrolled in Co. "H", 1st. Regiment of the Va. Volunteers as Private on
the 29th of October 1861 at Wheeling, Va. Records from Wetzel County, WV entitled Declaration for Widow's Pension show that John re-enlisted after
being wounded May 15, 1864 at New market, Va. and was transferred on 11 February 1864 as a Sergeant to Co. "F" of the 2nd. Regiment of the West
Virginia, Vet. Infantry Volunteers. He was subsequently honorably discharged July 16, 1865 at Clarksburg, WV and died October 5, 1896 at
Proctor, WV, Wetzel County.

Alice Davis Wingrove died in East Liverpool, Ohio, Columbiana County on November
17, 1912. The three
