90th Birthday  Simcoe Reformer 5 May 1980  

Mrs. Cecile Gertrude Wingrove, R R 2 St. Williams recently celebrated her 90th birthday with an open house at St. Williams United Church Ladies Parlour.
Some 400 guests were present from Calgary, Toronto, Barrie, Guelph, Dunnville, Simcoe, Port Ryerse, Port Dover, London, St. Thomas and Burlington. Haldimand Norfolk MPP Gordon Miller and Mrs. Miller attended the celebration and presented Mrs. Wingrove with a plaque from the province commemorating the occasion.
The wife of the late Earl Wingrove, she was born at Cope's Landing, later to be known as St. Williams, the daughter of the late Culver and Florence Smith.
She has been an active member of the Uplift Rebekah Lodge, Port Rowan, the Ladies Aid and Mission circle, St. Williams Women's Institute and the St. Williams Baptist Church. She has three daughters, Mrs. W J G (Christine) Kaye, Simcoe, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Howe, St Williams, Mrs. Lyle (Kathleen) Whitehead, Port Ryerse. A daughter, Mrs. John (Ruby) Moore and a son John E Wingrove, are deceased.
Mrs. Wingrove also has 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
