Robert "Bob" Wingrove was born on June 10, 1946 in Denison, Iowa, the son of
Bryce and
Ella (Retman) Wingrove. He graduated from Dow City High School and was enlisted in the National Guard. Bob was united in marriage to
Mary Jo Heller on December 19, 1970 in Dunlap, Iowa. The couple made their home in Denison along with their two children,
Tami and Scott. Bob worked as a laborer at Farmland Foods in Denison for thirty-five years. Bob and Mary Jo moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 2001 where Bob worked as a sales associate at Wal-Mart for the past three years. Bob attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. Some of Bob's interests included farming, camping, boating, antiques and gardening. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bob passed away August 29, 2005 at his home in Spirit Lake at fifty-nine years of age.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Jo of Spirit Lake, Iowa; daughter,
Tami Hed and her husband Josh of Chaska, Minn.; son, Scott Wingrove and his wife
Jennifer of Apple Valley, Minn.; two grandchildren, Emily and
Molly Hed; one sister, JoAnn Reisz and her husband
Ralph of Denison; three sisters-in-law, Sharon Morris and her husband
Bob of Austin, Texas, Bonnie Jean Schanou and her husband Cort of Papillion, Neb.,
Nancy LeMaster and her husband Frank of Austin, Texas; one brother-in-law,
Larry Heller and his wife Deb of Dunlap. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Bryce and Ella Wingrove; mother-in-law,
Bonnie Heller and father-in-law, Lawrence Heller. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison, Iowa Friday morning, September 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. with Father Edward Murray presiding. Music selections were "On Eagles Wings," "How Great Thou Art," "Prayer of St. Francis" and "You Are Mine" by St. Rose of Lima Choir.
Jean Cornelius was organist. Interment was made at Dow City Cemetery at Dow City, Iowa. Pallbearers were
Larry Heller, Frank LeMaster, Cort Schanou, Christopher Schanou, Gerald Brincks, Wayne
Mitchell. Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
