Arleene H Watson

   

Arleene H. Willis Watson, 81, of Waverly passed away at her home on Jan. 25, 2006. She had recently suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage.

She was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Wood County, a daughter of the late Marion B. and Della Elizabeth Haines Willis. Arleene was an active member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she also sang in the church choir. She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing crochet.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Watson; one son, Kenneth E. Watson and his wife, Cheryl, of Walker; one daughter, Barbara Hickman and her companion, Kevin Roberts, of Waverly; two grandchildren, Rena Stewart and her husband, Tim, and their children, Justin and Brooke Stewart, all of Waverly, and Christy Perkins and her husband, Matt, and their children, Austin and Kaitlyn Perkins, all of Parkersburg; one sister, Etheleene Linch and her husband, Ray, of Vienna; a sister-in-law, Glenna Willis of Waverly; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Willis; and a sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and George Rowley.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pine Grove Baptist Church, Route 2 North, Parkersburg, with Pastor Chuck Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow at the Willow Island Cemetery in Pleasants County. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
