Margaret Williams Ross, 85, of Glen Jean, died Aug. 24, 2005, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial
Division.
Born May 17, 1920, at Mount Hope, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and
Hattie Harmon Williams. She also was preceded in death by her husband,
William Edgar “Ack” Ross, on Aug. 22, 1984; sisters, Opal
Massey, Mable Wingrove and
Dorsey Lavendar; and brothers, Charles and Cecil
Williams.
Mrs. Ross was a member of the Church of God, Glen Jean, and a homemaker.
Surviving: son, William E. Ross Jr. of Glen Jean; daughters, Barbara Smith of Nitro and Deann Huffman of
Peterstown; sister, Freda Coy of Mount Hope; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Service was Aug. 27 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. John Pack officiating.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Glen Jean Church of God.

GLEN JEAN -- Opal Williams Massie, 80, formerly of Mount Hope, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born Jan. 21, 1918, at Mount Hope, she was the daughter of the late
Stewart and Hattie Harmon Williams. Mrs. Massie was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Clyde "Pete" Massie; two brothers, Cecil Williams and Ray
Williams; and two sisters, Dorsey Lavender and Mabel
Wingrove. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Halstead of Lodi, Ohio; two granddaughters,
Debra Yeaples of Spencer, Ohio, Tina Myers of Lodi, Ohio; a grandson,
Michael Halstead of Findlay, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Kristina Yeaples, Aaron Munyan, Stacey
Yeaples, and Cullen Halstead; two sisters, Margaret Ross of Glen Jean, and
Freda Coy of Kilsyth; a niece and care giver, Jean Bishop of Glen Jean; and several other nieces and nephews. Committal services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley, with the Rev. J.D. Pettry officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope.
