Gloria B Williams, 79, of 151 Tiffany Lane, Gettysburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village.
Born May 8, 1922 in Boston, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Wingrove
T. and Eugenia M. Tubin Bradley. She is survived by her husband of 51 years,
John C. Williams.
She was a member of Gettysburg Presbyterian Church. She was a 1939 graduate of Wellesley High School, Wellesley, Mass.
and a 1941 graduate of the Boston School of Practical Art. She had been employed as a technical illustrator by the Polaroid
Corporation and later by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During World War II, she worked in the Radiation
Laboratory at M.I.T. and later in the Research Laboratory of Electronics, where she illustrated a textbook on radar.
She later worked in the Harvard University Physics Department in the illustrations service until her retirement in 1958. She
studied painting under Ernest Major and piano at the Boston School of Music. She was active in church choirs and was a
member of the Concord Chorus in Concord, Mass.
She is also survived by a son, Douglas B. Williams of Middleboro, Mass; and a daughter,
Kathryn J. Reynolds of Mullica Hill, N.J.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs.
Philip C. Hill of Sun City Center, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2, at Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village Chapel, 1075 Old
Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, with Rev. Lou Nyiri officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
Friends may call at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday.
