Emma M. White, of Bealeton, Va., died on Tuesday, Oct.
1, 2002. She was the widow of William L. White, a
homemaker, beloved mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. She was an active participant of
Calverton Baptist Church and in her community.
She was involved in many activities of her church. She
was a major contributor in the writing of the History
of Calverton Baptist Church in celebration of its
100th year. She was a long-time participant in various
capacities of the Vacation Bible School and the AWANA
programs of her church, where she was lovingly known
as “the snack woman” by the youth. She was also
involved in many types of mission programs, such as
the Shoe Box Mission. She was very active in her
community throughout the years by generously donating
her time by serving at the polls on voting day, as
well as helping to provide food for the annual
fireman’s carnival. When donating financially to local
charities, she liked her anonymity and had several
that she faithfully supported during her lifetime.
She is survived by her children, Floyd William White
of Bealeton, Roger L. White of Culpeper, Elizabeth W.
Carey of Orlando, Florida; eleven grandchildren; one
great-granddaughter; and brothers, Edward Mason of
Bealeton, William Mason of King George County and
Archie Mason of Dunlap, Tennessee. She is also
survived by her husband’s brother and sisters, George
White of Bealeton, June Wingrove of Fredericksburg and
Dorothy Beagle of Stafford.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6
