HEPHZIBAH - Mr. Donald R. Ward, 68, of Plantation Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Doctors Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, with Brian Meade officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta.

Mr. Ward, a native of Holley, N.Y., had retired as a sergeant major from the Army after over 27 years and was a member of the Army Special Forces, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 649 and American Legion, Holley.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Y. Ward; three sons, Eddie J. Ward, Frank H. Warren and Troy A. Warren, all of Augusta; five daughters, Vicki W. Allen, Augusta, Judy M. Riley, Lexington, S.C., Debbi W. O'Neil, Wagener, Nancy E. Edenfield, Martinez, and Cindi J. Wingrove, Hephzibah; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation, 1109 Medical Center Drive, Suite 8-A, Augusta, GA 30909.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
