MILTON—
Mable von Falkenstein, age 93, of Milton, WI, died Dec. 6, 2003, in
Respite Care at the Stoughton Hospital, Stoughton, WI, with her family by
her side. Mable was born on Jan. 20, 1910, in Denison, IA, the fourth of
five children to Mary Ann Byatt and John Mitchell Ritchie.
Mable went to school in Denison and then to business college in Omaha, NE.
She met Jerome H. von Falkenstein in Waterloo, IA; they were
married on June 19, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, IA. Jerry predeceased her on
Nov. 15, 1962. Mable and Jerry moved to the Milton area in 1938. She was
active in several community organizations including being a charter member
of the Milton Woman's Club. Mable is survived by her children: Mary Lou
Schmidt of Westfield, WI, Jerry Lee von Falkenstein of
Hillsboro, WI, and Barry (Fran) von Falkenstein of Milton, WI; 6
grandchildren: Cynthia (Ken) Balestrieri of Elkhorn, WI, Rebecca
Schmidt of Elkhorn, WI, Jay von Falkenstein of La Crosse, WI, Kate
von Falkenstein of Hillsboro, WI, Amy (Chris) Sheridan of
Janesville, WI, and David von Falkenstein of Janesville, WI; 2
stepgrandchildren, Kurt von Falkenstein of Vallaejo, CA, and Tom
McDonald of Mauston, WI; 4 great-grandchildren: Alex and Jessica
Balestrieri, Keegan Sheridan, and Connor von Falkenstein; and 2
stepgrandchildren, Selena and Nicholas McDonald; plus a host
of close and very personal friends. Mable was also predeceased by her
parents; 2 sisters, Louise Marolf and Ann
Wingrove; 2 brothers, Charles and Fred Ritchie;
daughter-in-law, Helene von Falkenstein; and son-in-law, William
Schmidt.
ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME, Milton, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
