Vada V  Rodes

DAWSON ­ Vada V. Rodes, 72, died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at her home after a long illness. Born March 26, 1927, in Dawson, she was the daughter of the late George and Mollie Sweeney Anderson. Mrs. Rodes was a homemaker and foster parent. She was a member of Maude Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jules Shawn Rodes; a sister, Mary Bryant; and two half sisters, Norma Wingrove and Murzie Milish.

Survivors include her husband, Everette H. Rodes; two sons, Jerome Rodes and his wife, Marsha, and Gary Rodes and his wife, Beverly, all of Dawson; three daughters, Judy Dean and her husband, Richard, of Newport, N.C., and Jotina Walker and her husband, Johnnie, and Jill Osborne and her husband, Doug, all of Dawson; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Maude Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Maude Chapel Cemetery.
