Samuel Bronson

Samuel Wingrove Bronson, 82, of Pleasant Unity, died Tuesday, June 9, 1992, in Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Center, Hempfield Township. He was born March 30, 1910, in Pleasant Unity, a son of the late William L and Sara Wingrove Bronson.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Latrobe Steel Co. He graduated from the former Hurst High School in 1929. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, and its Senior Citizens, the UMWA, and Latrobe Steel Retirees Club.

He was preceded in death by a son, James W. Bronson in 1971; six brothers, Frank, Amon, Edward, John Lee, Theodore, and Bert Bronson; three sisters, Dollie Bronson, Fairy Hutter, and Lillian Aukerman; and a grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Riggle Bronson; three daughters, Sally Specht of Kissimmee, Fla., Mrs. Ray (Carol) Finley of Alexandria, Va., and Gail Bronson of Bethel Park; a son, Ronald Bronson of Connellsville; a sister, Ivy Hill of Latrobe; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

BRONSON - Friends of Samuel W Bronson, 82, of Pleasant Unity, who died Tuesday, June 9, 1992, will be received at the JAMES P. GAUT FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, Thursday and Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with pastors of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
