Kathryn Rahama Edwards, 82, of St. Albans, formerly of Quincy and Dupont City, died Jan. 19, 2000, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a short illness.
Surviving: daughter, Holly Kay Wingrove of Charleston; son, C. Wayne of Alum Creek; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Private service will be at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens West Virginia Mausoleum Chapel, Cross Lanes. Tyler Mountain Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Arden H. Van Norman, 89, who worked for 20 years at Brockway Glass in Brockway, Pa., died Monday (Feb. 21, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. He was born in Brockway and worked for many years as a truck driver for his father's business. He then worked as a laborer at Brockway Glass, retiring in 1975.Van Norman moved to Sanborn in 1976. He was a member of Niagara Community Church, Niagara Falls, and enjoyed gardening. His wife, Elsie Wingrove Van Norman, died in 1995. Survivors include five daughters, D. Jean Schmidt of Bergholz, Marge A. Reed and Judy L. Blakelock, both of the Town of Niagara, Linda J. Arnold of Warner Robins, Ga., and Nancy M. Schul; a sister, Zona Calhoun of Falls Creek, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton

Winona Cathel, 69, of Inverness died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at her residence under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Wilmington, Del., on Aug. 16, 1930, to the late Willis and Evelyn Wingrove, she came here 12 years ago from Beverly Hills. Mrs. Cathel was a member of the Inverness VFW Post 4337 Ladies Auxiliary. She was Protestant.
Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Elford P. Cathel; one son, Paul D. Cathel of Edgewater Park; one daughter, Karen L. Wright of Plant City; and three grandchildren.

Ruth Chitwood

MONAHANS - Ruth Chitwood, 80, of Monahans died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, in an Odessa hospital. Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Harkey Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Tamarisk Cemetery in Grandfalls. 
She was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Axtell. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. 
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Wingrove of Waxahachie and Geneva Gallander of Monahans; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. 


Bobby Ray Hinkle 

 Dayton L. Claar Jr., age 42, passed away March 17, 2000, at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital. Preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Annie Wingrove, whom he lovingly and devotedly cared for until her death at age 99. Survived by his mother, Dr. Jacqueline Wyatt; brothers, Jay L. Claar of Columbus and Jimmy L. Claar, Ret. USMC of Waldorf, Md.; nephews, Jimmy G. and Ryan Claar and niece, Jamie Claar. He is also survived by his fiancée, Betty O'Leary and her daughter, Jennifer; as well as numerous relatives and special friends. Margie Winters, 74, of Doyline, La., formerly of Pontotoc, died of heart failure Tuesday in Shreveport, La. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Baldwin Funeral Home with burial in Antioch Cemetery. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Doyline. Mrs. Winters, the widow of Earl V. Winters and R.J. Winters, leaves a daughter, Ann Wingrove of Bethany, La.; a son, Billy Glenn Winters of Doyline; two sisters, Wilma Brown of Oxford and Lynda Prater of Pontotoc, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


GRAHAM _ On April 28, 2000, Thelma Elizabeth Graham passed away peacefully at the Surrey Memorial Hospital, in the Dainard Pavilion at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by her husband Alexander Martin on August 18, 1989. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughter Gail and her husband Vincent Grassi of Surrey, B.C. and her granddaughter Danielle of Surrey; her son Gary Graham of Nanaimo, and her son Gordon Graham, his wife Bonnie and granddaughters Nanica and Darcie of Calgary; sister-in-law Betty Graham of Medicine Hat, Alta.; sister-in-law Jessie Wingrove of Bawlf, Alta. She also leaves one niece and her family in Lantzville, B.C.; one niece in Edmonton, Alta; one nephew in Medicine Hat, Alta.; one niece in Sparwood, B.C., one niece and nephew in Bawlf, Alta. and one nephew in Kindersley, Sask. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Fraser Heights Funeral Home, in Surrey. If you so wish, a donation may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Association in lieu of flowers. Margaret Meyer 

Margaret Meyer was born on a farm in Charter Oak Township, Crawford County, Iowa, May 25, 1910, the oldest of nine children born to Theodore and Ella Hopp Meseck. She was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism June 19, 1910 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover Township and confirmed in her Christian Faith in March of 1926 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township. She was raised on the farm receiving her education in the local parochial schools.

Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Wingrove, a native of Augusta, was a forklift operator for World of Color Paints. She was a 1988 graduate of Harlem High School. Stella M. Bonar, 76, of Belpre, Ohio, died Saturday, Mar. 13, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.  She was born at Orma, the daughter of the late Arthur and Molly Parsons Keith. She was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School for a number of years.  Surviving are one son, Albert Bonar of Belpre; one daughter, Shirley Wingrove of Belpre; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse M. Bonar in 1974; one son, Delbert Bonar; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Elmer Keith, Lora Keith and Willie Keith; and one sister, Gay Altizer. Services were held at Reed Funeral Home, Belpre, with Rev. Bob Randolph officiating. Burial was in Rockland Cemetery, Belpre.  (Norma Knotts Shaffer)

Jay L. Wingrove
was born November 4, 1928, the son of Paul and Josie Wight Wingrove. He died Thursday, March 18, 1999 at the Eventide Nursing Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy. Jay was born in Dow City, Iowa, where he received his education. After completing his education he farmed with his parents. He also worked for the Tenhulzen Hatchery and trucked before entering the United States Army in November of 1950, serving his country in Okinawa and Korea. Jay received the Occupation Medal Japan for his service following WWII.

He received his honorable discharge in 1952 and settled in California, where he trucked coast to coast. After returning from California, Jay worked for IBP, Builders Lumber and Berne Co-op in Ute. He was also employed as a security guard for Farmland Foods and Dubuque Packing in Denison.

On November 4, 1971, Jay was united in marriage to Erma Samuelson Meseck. The couple made their home on a farm south of Charter Oak.

Jay was a member of the Re-organized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dow City, Charter Oak American Legion and the Ute V.F.W. Jay was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who had a nickname for each of his grandchildren. In his leisure time, Jay enjoyed fishing and socializing in a game of cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter-in-law, Jenell Meseck, two step-grandsons, Keith and Jeremy, two brothers, Bob Wingrove and Archie in infancy and one sister, Edith Schneider. Survivors include his wife, Erma of Charter Oak; three sons, Darrell Wingrove, Glen Wingrove of California and Russell Wingrove of Anaheim, California; four stepsons, Jerry Meseck of Charter Oak, Byron Meseck and his wife, Barb of Ricketts, David Meseck and Jim Meseck, both of Charter Oak; one granddaughter, nine step-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Crane and her husband, Bill of Vail; one brother-in-law, Herman Schneider of Deloit; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 1999, at the Reorganized Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dow City, Iowa. Elder Bryce Argotsinger officiated the service and inurnment at the Dow City Cemetery at a later date. Art Beeck provided the organ accompaniment for soloist, Jeanette Cooper singing, "Amazing Grace" and congregational hymns, "How Great Thou Art" and "God Be With You". Honorary pallbearers were Jay Edward Wingrove, Allan Neddermeyer, Roland Schneider, Mike Schiltz Jr., Rick Cooper and Joe Crane. Military honors were Homer Hall Post No. 66, Charter Oak, Iowa. The family invited everyone in attendance at the service to join them in fellowship and lunch at the Dow City Community Building, served by the Church Women. The Huebner Funeral Home in Charter Oak was in charge of arrangements.

William H. Foltz
William Henry Foltz, 72, of 151 East Dunstable Road, Nashua, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.
Mr. Foltz was born May 7, 1926, in Collier, Pa., son of the late Gilbert S. and Hazel M. (Wingrove) Foltz. He had lived in Nashua for most of his life. Mr. Foltz was the husband of Odette N. (Dumais) Foltz whom he married on June 16, 1951. He worked for Ingersoll Rand Co. in Nashua [NH] for 33 years as a rubber coverer.
Mr. Foltz was a lifetime member of Club National of Nashua and VFW Post 483. Mr. Foltz piloted small planes and seaplanes. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and various types of music, including clarinet, piano and guitar. A veteran of the Coast Guard, Mr. Foltz served during World War II as a seaman first class. He received the Victory Medal ribbon, the American Theater ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon and the Philippine Campaign ribbon. He was educated in the Pennsylvania school system.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Terry G. Foltz of Nashua; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Roland Lebrun of Merrimack; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lebrun and Sarah Lebrun, both of Merrimack; a brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Theresa Foltz of Nashua; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Milton Cunningham of Fairchance, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Davis Funeral Home in Nashua is in charge of arrangements.

Jenell J. Meseck--Charter Oak Jenell J. Meseck was born December 15, 1952, the daughter of Vernon and Evelyn Hinrichsen Bielow. She died at the Bryan General Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska on Thursday, February 18, 1999, at the age of forty-six. 
Jenell was born in Denison, Iowa, and was baptized in Christ on January 4, 1953, at the St. John Lutheran Church, Charter Oak, Iowa, and later confirmed there on March 19, 1967. She received her education at St. John's Lutheran School and the Charter Oak-Ute Community School, graduating with the class of 1971. 
After completing her education she worked at Denison Drug, until her marriage to Jerry Meseck on September 1, 1972 at St. John Lutheran Church by Rev. Albert Prouty. The couple made their home in Charter Oak. Jenell worked part-time as a secretary at St. John Lutheran Church, Rick's Clover Farm and D & J Foodtown in Charter Oak. In 1991, Jenell began working at Topko Drug in Denison, where she was employed at the time of her death. Jenell was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Charter Oak. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother who was also their best friend. Jenell enjoyed her job at Topko where she was always willing to help people. 
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn in 1973 and one son, Jeremy in 1977. Survivors include her husband, Jerry of Charter Oak; two daughters, Jennifer Hennings and her husband, Tim of Ricketts, Jessica Meseck of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren, Kristin and Tyler at home in Ricketts; her father, Vernon Bielow of Charter Oak; her mother-in-law, Erma Wingrove and her husband, Jay of Charter Oak; and many other relatives and friends. 
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 22, 1999 at the St. John Lutheran Church, Charter Oak, Iowa. Rev. L.C. Gebhardt officiated the service and grave side rites held at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Charter Oak. ELYRIA, Ohio - Austin C. Brown, 74, formerly of Glen Daniel, died Monday, April 26, 1999, in an Elyria hospital following a short illness. Born Jan. 6, 1925, at Wavely, he was the son of the late Clem A. and Stella Wingrove Brown.
Mr. Brown was a 1943 graduate of Trap Hill High School. He was a retired motor inspector for LTV Steel in Cleveland and a member of the United Steel Workers Local No. 188, Cleveland. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant and serving with the 3rd Armored Division (Spearhead). He was a member of VFW Post No. 3341 in Grafton, Ohio, and was a former commander of the VFW Post, Bolt. Survivors include his wife, Betty Webb Brown of Elyria; a daughter, Brenda Sue Montano of North Ridgeville, Ohio; a son, Dana Wayne Brown of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; a brother, Kennith Brown of Hurricane; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, all of Ohio. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Snuffer officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Daniel Methodist Church Cemetery, Glen Daniel, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Sophia-Midway VFW Post No. 4326. Obituary: Memorial services will be Friday for Roger V. Schwenke, 70, of the Town of Vernon, who died Tuesday at home. He worked for Inland Steel for 35 years. Survivors include his wife, Jeri; a son, Steven (Sabrina); a brother, Dale (Arley) Gonnering; four sisters, Charlene (Dev) Krueger, Arlene (Robert) Leitinger, Judy (Mike) Koelpin and Marilyn (Frank) Starck; his stepmother, Dorothy Schwenke; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Wingrove; a brother-in-law, Jim Wingrove; and two sisters-in-law, Jan (Bill) Mayer and Gloria (Dick) VanBeek. Henry "Hank" S. Dentz, Sr

Henry Dentz, Sr., died June 18, 1999 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility following a bout of pneumonia. He was 78 years old. Though he resided most of his life in Sheboygan, he spent the last 26 years living at Elkhart Lake. In October of 1944 he married Patricia Wingrove. She passed away April 6, 1998. His grandchildren remember him by his skill in carpentry, annual height measurements on the door frame and his sneaking them cookies when Grandma Patty wasn't looking.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter. Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also one sister. It was Henry's request that there be no visitation of funeral services. Cremation has taken place. It is the family's wishes that you consider making a contribution to the Mental Health Association c/o of the Sheboygan United Way. William J. Kinsler
SCARBRO - William John Kinsler, 73, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, in an Oak Hill medical center following an apparent heart attack. Born March 26, 1926, in Mount Hope, he was the son of the late Anthony and Lucy Wingrove Kinsler. Mr. Kinsler was a disabled miner, retired from West Virginia State Road Commission (Division of Highways), attended First Church of God, Mount Hope, and was a member of the UMWA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Oather Wingrove and Elvin Kinsler; and a sister, Katherine Craver.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Warwick Kinsler; a daughter, Wilma Conner and husband, Bennie, of Scarbro; three grandchildren, Benji Conner and Lynette Smith and her husband, Pete, all of Pilot Mountain, N.C., and Kimberly Conner and her fiancee, Brandon Stover, of Scarbro; two sisters, Marie Byers of Maryland and Louise Harper of Beckley; a half sister, Esther Ferrall of Baltimore; three brothers, Ralph Kinsler of Sun, Otto Kinsler of Sophia and Carl Kinsler of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rodes was a homemaker and foster parent. She was a member of Maude Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jules Shawn Rodes; a sister, Mary Bryant; and two half sisters, Norma Wingrove and Murzie Milish.

Patty Jo McClaugherty Wriston, 53, of Maple Fork, died at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, in a Beckley hospital. Born April 25, 1946, in Rich Creek, Va., she was the daughter of the late Howard Hale McClaugherty and Martha Teel McClaugherty.
Mrs. Wriston was a homemaker and a retired employee of Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital with 10 years of service in the maintenance and dietary departments. She had been a resident of Maple Fork for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Robbie" Denvil Wriston Jr.; a sister, Nancy Marie McClaugherty Slocum; and a grandson, Steven Max Wingrove.

Betty J. Wingrove, 70, of Cokeburg, died Sunday, February 15, 1998, in Washington at the home of her daughter, Nancy J. Waters. She was born September 24, 1927, in Washington, a daughter of James A. and Dora Beatty Fordyce.
She attended Trinity High School and was a member of the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church in Washington. She was employed as a meat cutter by Giant Eagle in Washington for more than 20 years. She also did private duty work, caring for various elderly people in the Washington area.
Surviving are two sons, Edward P. Kirn of Washington and Raymond L. Knox Jr. of Washington; one daughter, Nancy J. Waters of Washington; two sisters, Zella Weirich of Augusta, Ga., and Florence Fordyce of Washington; seven grandchildren, Edward P. Kirn Jr., Shannon M. Knox, Misty Blu Waters, Carrie R. Knox, Tammy Kirn,Malinda Truby and Erica J. Kirn; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born May 27, 1930, in Washington, a son of the late Charles L. and Daisy V. Lindley Ringer. Mr. Ringer was a retired employee of the former Brockway Glass Plant 7 and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Greene County Coon Club and he enjoyed hunting. On October 4, 1952, he married Mona Lou Pearson, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Norman "Louie" Ringer Jr., Ricky B., Michael B. and Randy Lee Ringer all of Washington; two daughters, Sharon L. Richards of Bentleyville and Judith D. Vargo of Washington; a brother, Melvin L. She had lived in Canton for 76 years. Born Sept. 26, 1931, in Harvey to John and Garland Lipscomb Int-Hout, he married Barbara Brown. She survives. Also surviving are four sons, John, David, Dean and Tad, and one daughter,
Jo Wingrove, all of Phoenix; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Rodney and Tuggle, both of Seattle, and Piere of Saldovia, Alaska. He was an Army Paratrooper veteran. He was a school bus driver. Private services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: NEWPORT John E. Thomas Sr., 73, of 227 Mulberry St. died Friday in Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.
He was retired from the former Penn Central Railroad; was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; a past commander of American Legion Post 177; a former member, deacon and deacon board chairman, head usher and Sunday School superintendent of First Baptist Church, Scottdale; a member, elder and Sunday school superintendent of Highland Presbyterian Church here; and a member of VFW Post 34, Disabled American Veterans Post 49, Moose Lodge 1562 and the Junior Order of United American Mechanics. Surviving are his wife, Mabel Artis Thomas; a son, Henry of Hogestown; six daughters, Alverda Clawson of Scottdale, Linda Bitting, Ellen White and Beverly Beam, all of Newport, Darlene Cook of New Buffalo and Joanna Brookhart of Souderton; four sisters, Alverda Dugger of Scottdale, Ruth Wingrove of New Bedford, Mass., and Freda Dugger and Reda Weimer, both of Everson; five brothers, Harry, Henry, Jesse, David and Joseph, all of Scottdale; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Murphy Funeral Home, Scottdale. 
Burial will be in Scottdale Cemetery.

Graveside services for Sally Theresa Hajj-Rivera, 59, will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Perris Valley Cemetery in Perris. She died Saturday at Riverside General Hospital. The cause of death has not been determined. Mrs. Hajj-Rivera was born in Calexico. She lived in Riverside for 58 years before moving to Moreno Valley a year ago.She was a nurse's assistant in Riverside for 16 years.  FORT WORTH - Tommy Dale Brewer Jr., a cook, died Thursday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 20. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today in New Prospect Cemetery in Tin Top. Brown, Gause-Ware, Owens & Brumley Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Brewer lived in Fort Worth for three years. He was a former resident of Marlow, Okla., for nine years. He was raised by Rev. Troy and Darlene Shepard. Obituary: Ralph E. Fire Jr., 71, of the City of Tonawanda died Friday (Feb. 12, 1993) in Buffalo General Hospital after a short illness. Born in the City of Tonawanda, Fire served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II. He was employed at Spaulding Fibre Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1986. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Niagara Hose Company for 38 years and was a member of the Tonawanda Exempt Firemen's Association. He also was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tonawanda. Survivors include his wife, the former Aileen J. Severson; a daughter, Marilyn of Buffalo; and two sisters, Marguerite Wingrove and Gertrude Jufer, both of the City of Tonawanda. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in John O. Roth Funeral Home, Morgan and William streets, City of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.

Obituary: Eric D. "Don" Ross, 78, of National City, died July 8 in a hospital. The Telophase Society was in charge of cremation, with ashes to be scattered at sea. No services were scheduled. Mr. Ross was born in England, lived in the county 25 years and had been a Cal-Pure Water sales representative for 23 years.
Survivors include a son, Steven, of Idaho; three daughters, Lesley Morehouse of Oregon, Andrea Davis of Nevada and Jo Anne Case of Idaho; two sisters, Dorothy Wingrove of the Netherlands and Doreen Ferrier of Ontario, Canada; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggested donations to the San Diego County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

  82, of Normalville RD 1 [PA] died Saturday (May 8, 1982) at her home. She was born July 31, 1899, in Saltlick Township, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Minnie White Nicholson. She was a resident of Springfield Township for most of her life and was a member of Jehovah's Witness. She is survived by five sons, Charles, Allen, Herbert and Frank, all of Normalville, and Domer of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, four daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Nettie) Laws, Mrs. Jasper (Dolly) Rohm, Mrs. Dale (Alicia) Lanning, all of Normalville, and Mrs. William (Hazel) Wingrove of Star Route, Scottsdale, 54 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren and two brothers, Henry Nicholson of Dunbar and Thomas Nicholson of Normalville. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Richter, one son, Austin Richter, three daughters, Minnie Richter, Mrs. Harrison (Betty) Rohm and Mrs. Simon (Bertha) Shultz, two sisters, Florence Leasher and Ida Kent, and seven brothers, Allen, Frank, William, Harry, John, George, and Jesse Nicholson.

M A RICHMOND, 83, "Moundsville Daily Echo", 13 MAY 1940
Died Sunday morning at five o'clock at his home at 2017 Seventh street. He was the son of John and Nancy Richmond of Fish creek, and was the last remaining member of a family of eleven children. Mr Richmond was a member of Calvary Methodist church. He is survived by his widow; five sons, Charles of Moundsville, Lee, Harry and C S of Akron and George of Canton, OH, and one daughter Mrs. D R Wingrove of Parkersburg. Two children, Mrs Ila Buzzard and Paul are deceased.
The body was removed Sunday evening to the late home, where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev J H Carson of Calvary church will officiate and interment will be in Mt Rose cemetery.
