Opal W  Massie

GLEN JEAN -- Opal Williams Massie, 80, formerly of Mount Hope, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born Jan. 21, 1918, at Mount Hope, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Hattie Harmon Williams. Mrs. Massie was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde "Pete" Massie; two brothers, Cecil Willliams and Ray Williams; and two sisters, Dorsey Lavender and Mabel Wingrove. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Halstead of Lodi, Ohio; two granddaughters, Debra Yeaples of Spencer, Ohio, Tina Myers of Lodi, Ohio; a grandson, Michael Halstead of Findlay, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Kristina Yeaples, Aaron Munyan, Stacey Yeaples, and Cullen Halstead; two sisters, Margaret Ross of Glen Jean, and Freda Coy of Kilsyth; a niece and care giver, Jean Bishop of Glen Jean; and several other nieces and nephews. Committal services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley, with the Rev. J.D. Pettry officiating. 

Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope.
