ELLEN M. O'NEILL

Ellen M. O'Neill, entered into rest Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was 89. The daughter of the late Hugh and Johanna Dillon O'Neill, she was born November 28, 1913 in Newburgh. During World War II, Ellen worked in Washington, D.C. for the OSS, forerunner of the CIA. She then enjoyed an interesting and varied career in New York City as an executive secretary. Ellen returned to the Hudson Valley and was employed at West Point until her retirement. Survivors include her three loving nieces, Joan Marie Astalos, Peggy-Ann Patsalos and Linda Wingrove and 10 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, James O'Neill and two sisters, Peg and Sally. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, at St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh. Monsignor John Budwick will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Funeral arrangements were made by the Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, Newburgh.
