In Memory of 
John J. McKernan

   

John J McKernan, 16, a resident of Chesterfield Township for the past 12 years, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, in his home. He was born Dec. 16, 1986, in Mount Clemens.

John was a junior at L'Anse Creuse North High School, where he was a member of the school's hockey team. Relatives said he enjoyed playing hockey, skateboarding and playing video games. He also was a member of the Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his parents, John J. McKernan and Michele (David) Wingrove, both of Chesterfield Township; siblings, Christen McKernan and Sophie Wingrove, both of Chesterfield Township; fiancee, Krystina Taylor of Chesterfield Township; grandparents, James and Maureen McKernan of Clinton Township, Lynn and Nicholas Karl of Lexington, Mich., Alan and Milene Wingrove of Alliston, Ontario; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary Queen of Creation Church, 50931 Maria, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Nicholas Zukowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Baltimore.

Visitation is 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-9 p.m. Sunday, with a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service, in Gendernalik Funeral Home, 35600 Main St., New Baltimore.
