Joseph Victor Wingrove Sr., 71, of Mt. Pleasant (Bullskin Township), died Saturday, July 4, 1998, in the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL
HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
Doug Burns officiating.
A committal service and interment will follow in the Greenlick Cemetery, Bullskin
Township. Military services will be conducted at the graveside by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion.

Joseph Victor Wingrove Sr., 71, of Mt. Pleasant (Bullskin Township), died Saturday, July 4, 1998, in the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born March 25, 1927, in Pleasant Valley (Bullskin Township), a son of
Christine Kirkwood Wingrove of Connellsville RD2 and the late Theodore R.
Wingrove. He was a lifelong resident of Bullskin Township and worked for 25 years as a self-employed masonry contractor. He then retired from Lenox Crystal of Mt. Pleasant in 1992. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and received both the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion. He was a very active member of the Bullskin Township Senior Citizens. He was a member of the
Paradise United Methodist Church in Bullskin Township, where he had served as head usher and on the Building Committee and various other church offices. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife,
Helen Louise Stefl Wingrove, with whom he celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on June 26, 1998; a son, the Rev.
Joseph V. Wingrove Jr. and his wife,
Amy, of Normalville RD1; and a daughter, Cindy Jo Wingrove of Mt. Pleasant; two
grandchildren, Christine and Benjamin
Wingrove, both of Normalville RD1; three brothers, David Wingrove and his
wife, Helen, of Connellsville RD2, Donald 'Pete' Wingrove and his wife,
Shirley, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Theodore Wingrove and his wife,
Donna, of Connellsville RD2; and two sisters, Margaret Shultz of Connellsville RD2 and
Elizabeth Grimm of Connellsville. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother,
John A. Wingrove; and an infant sister.
