Harold Budd 

 

Harold B. Budd, 90, of Port Royal Road, Rostraver Township, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, in the Country Care Manor Nursing Home, Fayette City. Born in Rostraver Township, April 22, 1907, a son of the late Benjamin and Oletta (Markle) Budd. The Budd family was among the first settlers of Rostraver Township, arriving in the 1700s.

Mr. Budd farmed in Rostraver Township and was an engineer for Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad, retiring after 44 years. He was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church, Rostraver Township. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Esther Timms Budd; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Benjamin H. Budd at home and Thomas A. Budd Sr. and his wife, Judith of Rostraver Township; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Lee O. McBeth of Rostraver Township and Florence B. Fretz and her husband, James Sr. of Lynnwood; 12 grandchildren: Sam McBeth, Robert McBeth, James McBeth, Mary Esther Antal, Renee Bell, James Fretz Jr., Donald Fretz, Beth Fretz, Cheryl Lewis, Janet Wingrove, Terri Mutich and Thomas Budd Jr.; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, William, Lloyd 'Pete' and Donald Budd; a sister, Minerva Breakiron; an infant son, Richard James; and a son-in-law, Earl McBeth

Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Ricky D. Nelson, pastor of the Concord United Methodist Church, officiating. 
Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Concord United Methodist Church Organ Fund.
